The consummate mystical training manual for those "called" to the search for God.

While the book teaches wisdom it is moreover a compass to interact with whatever is this sentient "mind" that is able to manipulate the coins. If one completely surrenders to "the way" laid out, one experiences a lifetime of growth and personal advancement... albeit, it is not a lifetime for the faint of heart. It is one way to find life's ultimate truth.

A word to the wise... rest assured that no matter how dark things may appear, at times, along the way... you will eventually receive the answers that will give you peace of mind. But you must persevere. "Perseverance furthers"... as it says.

The proof of the existence of "God" - or whatever one wishes to call the sentient mind that controls the coins - comes in the form of a statistical observation of how a series of random events like casting the coins can so blatently defy probability theory. The devotee develops an actual personal interacting relationship with this thing we call "God". "Faith" becomes replaced by intimate "knowledge". You not only grow to know God... but you interact and play with him/her/it. "The only thing I know about God is that he/she/it has a sense of humour.

If you are truly serious about finding "God"... this book will take you on the path to discovery. Surrender to it completely... and then hold on. It will become the magnificent obsession of your life. It will truly give your life meaning. Your life will be a roller coaster ride but it will be an enriched life experienced by only a very few. And it is a roadmap for becoming a "chosen" one. "Many are called, few are chosen"

And the bottom line?... What else have you got to do with your life? Why not spend it among the angels... and believe me... you will begin to understand - as you enter - the realm of angels. Gods chosen one's on earth.

Sound crazy enough for you? Well, my friend, if you are reading this, take this as a sign. Write me if want to know more... but for now... Duty calls.

The I CHING or Book of Changes
Review created: 03/27/06
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The I CHING or Book of Changes was extremely popular in the USA in the late 60’s and early 70's around the time of the Vietnam War when people were seriously searching for answers about the changing times.

War, peace, free love, drugs, Eastern philosophies and other alternative belief systems confused the youth. The book is very fascinating, it is filled with philosophy, insight and very un-Western wisdom — kind of like an Eastern twist on Judeo-Christian Proverbs.

The I CHING, or Book of Changes, has significantly influenced the way of life in China for three thousand years. It is one of the first recorded efforts of the human mind to try to find a place for itself within the realm of the universe.

Richard Wilhelm, who originally translated the book from Chinese into German, explains the characters (or pictures) that make up Chinese calligraphy and the philosophy behind each character. Each chapter starts with the character that is being referred to and its relationship to the heavens and earth. This is vital in understanding the Chinese culture and its age-old religious and philosophical approach to life.

If Eastern philosophy doesn’t do much for you, at least the I CHING will help you understand the fundamental mechanics of the written Chinese language.

  The I Ching
Review created: 07/10/09
by:

The I Ching is an amazing book filled with ancient timeless wisdom. It's a bit hard to follow as you might expect due to the age. But if you absorb what you can it will help you understand youself and others and show you that we are all the same, and have always been the same. Overall it is a guide with no malice or greed, only honor and true wisdom. I read a couple of pages a night and nearly always learn a lesson for the day.
