Good, But doesn't cover everything.

I was very pleased with several Chilton books in the past and bought this manual as soon as I bought a 1999 Mustang. I was very disappointed that it contained nothing about computer codes and cures for the Service Engine Soon light. While the rest of the mechanical coverage looks reasonably comprehensive, I am sure that all of the cars covered by this book will need computer assistance at some time in their lives.
Since I need to get the Service Engine Soon light issue fixed before I can get license plates, I have focused on that. The location of the O2 sensors and Catalytic Converters were shown, but again, no assistance on troubleshooting.
My review is lopsided be cause a specific type of trouble is not covered. For the usual brake jobs and maintenance the book is just fine. It is written in Chilton's direct, easy to understand language with ample illustrations. It only missed an excellent rating because of the lack of computer information.
