Synopsis
Bright, bold, and rhythmic, CHICKA CHICKA BOOM BOOM is an imaginative and fun introduction to the letters of the alphabet. Like excited children, the lowercase letters of the alphabet engage in a daring race to the very top of the coconut tree. All seems to be going well, but once the entire alphabet has made the climb, their collective weight proves to be too much for the skinny tree and so it bends, causing all the letters to fall out of the tree. Chaos ensues--the "d" has a skinned knee, the "j" and "k" are near tears, and the "p" has a black eye--but, with the help of the more adult uppercase letters, all is eventually settled and the letters drift off to sleep as the moon rises behind the coconut tree. However, just as the story is about to end, little "a" attempts to goad the other letters into yet another race. Although the illustrations showcase lowercase letters, readers will also be introduced to the uppercase, as the text uses them and the endpapers features both the upper- and lowercase alphabet. Colorful illustrations featuring tropical greens, bold oranges, and bright pinks accompany the lively text.
