Ever since the former rich girl turned cleveland cemetery tour guide banged her head on a headstone,she sees dead people. worse still she hears them and the won't shut up! now it's didi bowman a poodle skirted relic from the great beyond whose bending peppers ear complaining that her famous author sister merilee has done her wrong. trouble is if pepper proves it. she will break the hearts of millions of merilee's fans. and if she doesn't did's ghost may never go away.
i think the first book was better, but it's still cute.
i'm a little over the shoes. sorry between mcalister's vampire shoe heroine and sex in the city shoes. i'm over it.
also the dan/quinn thing is very confusing and not for the reasons your thinking of.
but the author is good with coming up with surprise twist endings.
it's enjoyable to read a book where the hero or heroine while has had some difficult past issues, they are nothing like the torcher of archeron by kenyon.

excellent fast readI read the first book in this series and was surprised at how much I enjoyed the characters and premise. There is a playfulness in the writing , yet it is very suspenseful. I would encourage anyone to read this series, you will have a lot of fun getting to know pepper and the cast of characters.

) I got this book because the first was so funny. It was like the Ghost Whisperer but more one on one for Pepper who sees the ghosts. Former rich girl turned poor, with father in prison.
Pepper runs into a ghost of a mobster and an famous writer in the first two books and in the third she is involved with a famous singer of a rock band.
Can not wait to get more books about Pepper's adventures as she work for the Garden View Cementary.

The Chick and the Dead, Casey DanielsCasey Daniels writes an excellent Pepper Martin series. Her character is action-packed, and extremely easy to picture as a real person. She comes across as a cross between Betsy, Queen of the Vampires (MaryJanice Davidson) and Sherlock Holmes with paranormal ability. The shoe fashionista with the ability to see and talk to ghosts; working as a cemetary guide...okay, uber funny! Her reactions to trouble she gets into while trying to help spirits-at-unrest are laugh-out-loud funny. Read one of the series and you're hooked on the character. This was about Didi Bowman who has Pepper helping her prove that she wrote one of the most famous books ever writter, instead of her sister (who took the credit after Didi commited suicide). I won't go into detail because it would ruin the many twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat and not able to put it down! The nice thing about the series is that you don't have to read them in order, because each book stars a different ghost that Pepper is trying to help get to 'the light'. Thumbs up for Casey!
