Well-written, objective biography of a great Marine
) 
As a former Marine and big fan of the Marine Corps in World War II, I had heard many anecdotes about "Chesty" Puller, who is a legend in the Corps, and wanted to know the facts behind the legend. I was not disappointed. Jon Hoffman has done meticulous research and written a very authoritative, yet very readable, account of Puller's life. Anyone interested in the Marine Corps, or military leadership in general, should read this book.

) A must read for any MARINE as well as any military leader. Lewis B. "Chesty" Puller, was awarded 5 Navy Cross's as well as the Distinguished Service Cross, he lead from the front. A true military leader and hero.
