Chemistry by Silberberg (2008, Package)

I do not like anything about this seller. He did not ship the item that I actually ordered. If you leave in the United States, I would strongly recommend not to buy from him. He will ship you international edition. This seller is too slow shipping at the item. I tried to contact this seller so many times, but did not respond to my answer at least once. I tried to ship back the product, but the shipping cost was too much in the USA. So don't buy anything from this seller.

Was never told that this was the international edition. I had to re-sell it becasue i couldn't use it myself. Was shipped timely and came in good condition

I order and paid for this book the middle of July it is now September and I still don't have the book. After emailing a couple of times and asking if someone could please check on the book, I asked for my money back sence I had to buy the book somewhere else. I still don't have the book, my money or a reply.

The book is a soft cover edition, but contains good information. The binding of this particular book is a bit flimsy, but I do not know if this can be assumed of the others.

So far, there is little to no discrepancy between the international and local North American version of the textbook.

It's lighter than the original hardcover, but has everything in it that you need. The pages are identical and the pictures are in color. I will definitely be purchasing more international books in the future. The only issue is that you can't resell, but I guess you're saving enough money already that it doesn't matter.

the International paperback version is same as U.S. Really a better bargain. The questions are the same and the chapters are in order

I ended up having to return the book I purchased. This seller was very quick about refunding my purchase. the book was also shipped and received within 2 weeks. Very fast!

Well, I am still trying to get my money back for this book, the book never came, the seller was contacted several time and never responded. Needless to say I had to buy the book elsewhere for the class. What a waste.

The sale states that the book is brand new but upon receiving the book, it was damage. I'm not sure if it's the shipping that caused it or the fact that the book might have not been brand new. I expected the book to be in perfect condition since it's brand new.

Great book, but never received it. Horrible seller. Big waste of money ($150)and time (5weeks). Lots of problems. Seller never replied to emails. Ebay took forever to review my claim. BUT OVERALL, the book is great. Everything explained in details, but not so much that it is hard to understand. Lots of helpful pictures and diagrams that helps sum up the chapter material. Lots of good practice problems.

I bought this item because I need it or my college course. I like it because it's simple to understand. It really helps with the course.

On August 27, 2009, I purchased - Chemistry by Silberberg - 5e, from Sanctuary Books.
Seller posted on the internet the picture of the original book, but sent me another book with the following disclaimer written on the cover: “This international Student Edition is not to be sold or purchased in North America and contains content that is different from its North American version.”
Seller misled me. I did not get the book that was advertised. I am inclined to believe that is a copy-cat. Because the seller did not cooperate with me by sending me a prepaid shiping label to send back the book, I disputed the charge with my credit card company. I will ship back the book to the seller when she sends me a prepaid postage label. Seller is located in Singapore and shipping costs almost as much as the book.

I could send a picture of the book I received from the seller. Seller lied in her internet advertisement.

I am pleased with the shipping time, and how easy the seller was to deal with, it was great! The only thing was that i got the international version instead of the North American version that would be easier to sell later.

I didn't know it was going to be the international version, but it works just fine. I decided to buy this book because it was much cheaper than my school was selling it for, it is almost identical to my school's version though.

The item I bought was an international edition of the book I needed. The only difference was the cover and quality of the paper, but everything else was the same. Pages were correlated. Content is exactly the same. AND HECKA CHEAPER! Saves you a lot of money.

I was not informed that book was an international version, but it was really not any different. I did get the shipment in a timely manner, I had no problems with this seller

I don't completely understand the game that McGraw is playing with the warning on the front cover of the international version that the content inside is different from the US version. Maybe some international versions have differences, but this is the second paperback textbook I've bought that was McGraw and it has been perfect and identical to the hardcover. Buying both of these books in paperback, NEW, saved me about $250 bucks for just two books! The only downside to these is that the covers can get bent in a backpack, but by putting two notebooks on either side this can be pretty well avoided. I wish I had known about international versions earlier, as Silberberg is a great textbook full of exam-worthy examples and helpful figures, at ONE THIRD THE PRICE of hardcover! Doesn't get any better than that.

OW what can I say about the book and the seller, every thing went very nicely and there wasn't any problem with the book. I bout the book because I thought the deal was nice and by the time I bought the book it was 50% cheaper than in US. I found it as it was described by the seller and it was 100% the same as that of the US version. About Transaction I didn't believe i bought it online because every thing went smoothly with out the problem. I tried it and I'm loving it you should try because it is good for me.
I didn't hate anything about the product and I think the seller is the best book seller on ebay:). Cheers!!

Although the international version of this book is "different" from the North American version, it is not really. I am using the book at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and it is exactly the same for what I need. The chapter material, comprehensive questions and exercises at the end of the chapter are all exactly the same. I'm not sure what was actually the difference, so don't worry if you need it in the US! The paper back is nice to have, too.

Thanks! I like the book, even though, the question numbers are diff. from the US edition. But basically it's the same. It's a BIG help. Well, I needed this book to do the practice questions, because some questions might come from the book on the test.
