In fact, the best compliment I can pay to Chasing Amy is this: Ben Affleck has a major role in the film… and I still like it!! I really despise Mr. Ben Affleck, but somehow he is rather good in this movie.

I really thought it was a strong movie. I like finding stuff that flies under the radar, but is still a satisfying little gem. No real review stuff here, only because I've been in a similar situation (where the woman I was sleeping with and falling in love with had been f*** buddies with just too many other people) and I can relate to the confused atmosphere that these people find themselves in. I thought the scene at the club where Adams is singing (good song written by Adams by the way) and Afleck thinks it's for him, is the stongest comic moment. Very funny! I'll tell you one thing though - I fell half in love with Joey Lauren Adams. What a beautiful girl! Ben Affleck has made it but I don't know why she isn't a bigger star. I think this is easily the best movie Kevin Smith ever made. I thought Mallrats was just junk...but that's my opinion.

I love the fact that Kevin Smith is a wordsmith unlike any other. He mixes smart, intelligent dialog with the raunchiest humor you can imagine. With this movie he shows that love can be found in places you would never imagine to find it. You see the tale of love in the sexual and the emotional. In this movie you can find the hardships of knowing everyone in a small town climate. You realize that it's really hard to get away from the rumors and hear say of small town life. Watch this movie if you like anything else Kevin Smith has done.

Many people who are fans of Kevin Smith movies do not like this one as much. They are wrong. Chasing Amy, while not a straight up comedy similar to Smith's other movies, is excellent. It includes the smart and realistically profanity-strewn dialogue that marks all Kevin Smith movies. It is also an honest look at relationships and how the re-defining of sexual identity can affect such. This movie can also be said to be one of the first 'bromance' movies (albeit not with a happy ending) that have recently become very popular in the comedy genre.
I would definitely suggest this movie, whether or not one is a Kevin Smith fan.

Another Kevin Smith ClassicI decided to buy Chasing Amy, as it was the only Kevin Smith movie I haven't seen. It didn't disappoint. Rife with drama, turmoil, and excellent discussions about relationships, sexuality, and gender stereotypes, Chasing Amy left me with so much to say. I loved the movie, but beware: Holden McNeil is the biggest tool on screen. Ha, no seriously. Awesome movie. Go see it.

chasing amyI am a fan of Kevin Smith films. I had not seen Chasing Amy prior to my purchase. However, I had heard rave reviews from several people. My curiosity finally won out. This film is in my opinion, Smith's most cerebral entry in the "Buddy Film" group. Jay and Silent Bob even enhance the plot line. As always, there are a few inside references to characters from the previous films. While not as comedic as the rest of the series, Chasing Amy is a thoroughly enjoyable piece on its own. Kevin Smith even gets a surprisingly tight performance from Ben Affleck and Jason Lee. This is a winner on every level!

Dvd was in good shape as described and arrived in a timely manner, but seller doesn't respond to emails and refuses to leave feedback weeks & weeks after the transaction was completed. I promptly left feedback and have sent this seller 3 messages requesting the same but no response & no feedback. Poor business in that regard, otherwise no complaints

This is a good chick flick that us guys can make it thru also. From one of my favorite director's Kevin Smith who also did Clerks 1 @ 2, Dogma, Mallrats and more. If you havn't seen it, I would say its worth checking out.

Kevin Smith, the Director and an actor in "Chasing Amy" is one of my favorite Directors. I pretty much worship the guy. I bought the DVD to help fill in my collection of Kevin's movies. "Chasing Amy" is one of his finest. I love all the actors--and as a director, Kevin seems to be able to get performances out of actors like Ben Affleck that other directors just don't always seem to be able to do. Kevin never gives himself enough credit, but I think anyone who hasn't seen this movie is seriously depriving themselves of the chance to see a fine comedy with some excellent acting, wonderful writing (also by Kevin Smith)and a movie that will make you laugh and cry. Don't walk, run to the nearest video outlet and rent it, if you haven't already seen it. You're in for a real treat.

Again, Kevin Smith is the King of indy films! What's great about this movie is the guy does NOT get the girl in the end - more aptly mirroring real life. Joey Lauren Adams does a great job and the chemistry between Ben Affleck and Jason Lee is amazing! I recommend this movie to any die hard K. Smith fan; of course if you're a die hard fan, then you already own this movie!

In the product description, the seller stated that this DVD was "new" even though the wrapping was removed. However, once I received it I noticed a scratch across the DVD which the seller did not disclose. It was clearly not in "new" condition.
