Album Notes Jimmy Eat World: Jim Adkins , Rick Burch, Tom Linton, Zach Lind. Additional personnel: Amy Ross, Finn Adkins, Jackson Adkins, Ava Lind (vocals); Stephen Lu (keyboard); John Fields (keyboards, bass instrument). Continuing its trajectory towards a fuller alt-rock sound, the punk-pop act Jimmy Eat World enlisted help from revered producer Butch Vig (Nirvana, Garbage) for its 2007 outing, CHASE THIS LIGHT, making the album a natural progression from '04's FUTURES, which was helmed by Gil Norton (Pixies, Echo & the Bunnymen). Fronted by earnest singer/guitarist Jim Adkins, the Arizona quartet unveils its more expansive aesthetic most effectively on the soaring single "Big Casino," which plays nicely off of the thoughtful, chiming "Carry You," and other assured, guitar-driven tracks. While longtime fans won't be surprised by the group's impressive evolution, new fans will marvel at what they've been missing.
