Movie Description
Charlie Kate Birch (the always-amazing Gena Rowlands) is an unusually independent woman for 1930s North Carolina--she's a caregiver, midwife, and herbalist who preaches self-reliance and feminism to her daughter Sophia (Mimi Rogers) and granddaughter Margaret (Susan May Pratt).
