Charmed - The Complete First Season (DVD, 2005, 6-Disc Set)

I was so happy when season one finally came out on DVD. As soon as I got it, I watched all 22 episodes in 3 days. (Marathon!) I now have season two as well, and season three is on the way. The box sets are very nicely done, my only complaint is the lack of special features. I would like to see some interviews, behind the scenes, commentary, anything..... Okay, lets get back to the reasons why this set is so great. It has season one on it!! From the very first episode, this series hooks you, and reels you in. Holly Marie Combs is totally awesome as Piper (can you tell who my fave actress and character is?), Shannen Doherty gives Prue her own special touch and Alyssa Milano makes Phoebe fun (later, Phoebe develops more depth, but in the first and second seasons she was still figuring out who she was). And lets not forget Brian Krause, the best gaurdian angel ever! Dorian Gregory and T.W. King are also in this season.

And story begins:

Phoebe finds the Book of Shadows in the attic and recites a spell giving all three women unique powers they were always meant to have: Prue suddenly has the gift of telekinesis, Piper can make time stand still, and Phoebe can see into the future. All well and good, but along with those extraordinary abilities is a new awareness of dark forces in the world from which mortals need protection. In some cases, those forces have been plotting a long time to steal the Halliwell's magical legacy once they awakened to it--and now they will never let up.

I caught a few episodes in syndication and was intrigued, so I bought the first 7 seasons, and am waiting for the final season out 9-11-07. This series is written with great imagination, and the characters are developed in such a way that you really want to know what happens next. It's great fun and full of interesting plot lines.

With my busy schedule I was never able to see the first season. I love the series and the 1st season answer some questions that I had. I absolutely love the characters. It is worth the price. The characters have great chemistry and are so realistic. The sister bond is right on the money of how relationships between sisters are. There is bickering, arguing, and at times they do not get along. But in the end they are always there for each other in times of trouble. It is refreshing to see women take charge of their destiny and not let a man control them.

This show has everything; romance, adventure, action, drama and comedy! There is something for everyone in this show. You can't help but be captivated and look forward to the continue saga of the Halliwell sisters.

Excellent purchase and well worth it!

I don't have television in my home so I was only able to watched a couple episodes of this season when it first aired. I recently was able to barrow the whole season from a friend and just loved it. The characters of the three Halliwell sisters seem so real. I could relate to them. Prue is protective of her sisters. She works very hard to succeed in her career. Piper is a romantic who keeps falling for the wrong guy. Poebe is on the wild side, likes to have fun but just trying to find her place. Mix in the mystery, humor, magic and some butt kicking and you have what I think is the best series out so far.

The only thing i can think of that i didn't like about season one is that Leo wasn't in it much. Leo is a handyman or so the sisters think. He's really their whitelighter, like a guardian angel, and he is one of my favorite characters in the series.

I started looking around in the local stores for a copy of this first season but they were all too expensive for my budget so I started looking around on ebay. I've only purchased a couple things on ebay in the past but was very pleased with my purchases. I found season one of Charmed and won the auction at a much more affordable price than i could get anywhere else. The item shipped very quickly and was in even better condition than i had hoped. I was watching it within just a few days. It was wonderful. I've watched every episode of season one at least five time in the past month and I'm still not tired of it.

I'm planning on buying all the seasons. I actually have season two and three on the way now. Thanks to my friend who loaned me hers, I've seen season 1-7 and they only get better. I can't wait to have my own copy of all of them.

I bought this season after I had watched some of the later seasons and I wanted to see how it all started. It's been fun to see the beginning and watch them change as the years go on.

This is just a great dvd series.Very imaginative!My whole family enjoys Charmed.I do intend to buy the entire series.

I bought this for my daughter who loves the show. When she is home sick or weathered in, she likes to curl up with her dogs and watch Charmed. The show is funny and scary and adventurous. She loves it.

I love this series and would love to own all of the seasons. Since it is $40 dollars to buy each one at the store, getting them for less than $20 is a bargain! I will have each one eventually!

What an awesome beginning!! After the death of their Grams, the 3 Halliwell sisters learn they have inherited something very special. They learn they are the next generation of Halliwell witches. 3 special sisters who come together and fight demons and save innocents. After Phoebe reads an incantation from the Book of Shadows each sister is blessed with a special power they have to learn about, control and use to fight evil.

I bought Season 1 when it was first released and will continue until I have them all!! I'm really going to miss this awesome show!! The Charmed Ones will always be in our hearts!! Good luck to Holly, Alyssa, Rose, Shannen, Brian and Dorian in their future endeavors!! ~*~ Blessed Be ~*~

This season is one of my favorites. Three sisters coming together after being apart for so many years and then find out they are witches. I love the mystery. I am planning to buy the rest of the seasons because the show is so good. This show keeps to your imagination.

I gotta admit I like this show. Three beautiful girls, action and a totally decent storyline. In as few words as possible it's about three modern-day witches living in San Fransisco fighting all kinds of demons. I think it lost a little momentum as the years went by so I would recommend the first couple of seasons. Especially the first. There's something about the whole atmosphere in the show that you just gotta love. More than OK acting as well. Highly recommended.

I am a charmed fan and I love to watch it, but since they show re-runs when I am at work I purchased the set.
