Let me first start by telling you that the search for god has been part of my life since as long as I can remember. However, when you seek truth you must allow yourself a bit of doubt. I say so because we are gcreated in god's image and god must have doubt. Only with doubt and an open mind can one find answers and explore other views.
Chariots of the Gods was a real treat for me. It gave me new ways of viewing the universe, the realistic posibilities of other intelligence in the cosmos, and it lead me to the book of Enoch. Enoch was the grandfather of Noah (the flood), and I must tell you that the book of Enoch is quite interesting.
The topic of the Babilonian, Egyptian, and Maya calendars were impressive to me, especially because I had already done much research. Also, the possibility that Moshe was born during the reign of Ahmose is interesting (I'm still researching that area).
To make a long story short, if you are open minded, search for the creator of all, answers to a few of your questions, then I highly recommend you this book.
