| Synopsis Increasingly, neurologists are beginning to discover the human brain's remarkable plasticity, its ability to grow new pathways, expand, and revive itself. At the same time, the majority of individual brain scans show severely overexcited areas and underdeveloped regions. Psychiatrist and neurological scientist doctor Daniel G. Amen describes a variety of methods, including cognitive behavior techniques, meditation, and self-hypnosis, by which people can, without the use of drugs, physically alter their own brains, and overcome negative behaviors such as obsessive thinking, anxiety, anger, and depression.

Top Reviews Review created: 08/07/08 by: mlbrownmlbrown ( 1 ) 6 of 6 people found this review helpful. The way Dr. Amen shares the information is understandable to the layperson. He is honest and not full of silly words. He talks straight. If you want to understand, and get honest with yourself, this is a great book. I'm finding answers and comfort because of his honesty. I read it via CDs but I'm ordering the hardcopy. This is a must have for any serious library collection. Review ID: 10000000008251050 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
