CHANGE MY WAYS has Chicago blues legend Howlin' Wolf tearing it up on "New Crawlin' King Snake," "Ain't Superstitious," and "Hidden Charms," among others.
Originally compiled and issued in 1975 as a vinyl album in the original Chess Blues Masters Series, this 19-tracker is some of Wolf's best middle-period (1959-1963) material. Surprisingly, many of the tracks were cut in stereo and their appearance on compact disc does much to enhance their sonic ambience. Although some of this material surfaces on the three-disc Howlin' Wolf box set ("I Ain't Superstitious," "Just Like I Treat You"), this single disc stands mightily on its own. If you really want to hear Hubert Sumlin rip up the fretboard, this an excellent place to start. ~ Cub Koda
