  Coal Chamber - Chamber Music

Chamber Music is the second studio album by Californian nu metal band Coal Chamber, released on the label Roadrunner in 1999.

With this record, Coal Chamber purposely distanced their sound from that of Korn who they were often compared to because of the prominent influence on Coal Chamber's debut album.. Many of the songs on Chamber Music are notably more melodic than that of its predecessor and could perhaps make it the group's most accessible record. Their cover of Peter Gabriel's "Shock the Monkey," featuring guest vocals by Ozzy Osbourne, helped launch the band into the mainstream music scene as well. A music video was produced for "Shock the Monkey," and the song received notable radio airplay for a time.

This album has an acquired taste, but it's worth a shot

I bought this because of the cello on the cover. I mistakenly thought it had something to do with what was on the cd. Anyway, I was pleased to find the Ozzy singing shock the monkey on this. It was worth the price of the cd. The other music on here is not all that great. Mainly, I think the band is a bunch of posers, who want us to buy into their Satanic image. All the tattoos and body piercings in the world won't help their music any. It is lame, it is like if Marylin Manson drank a beer too fast, he might end up sounding like this. Or maybe if Alice Cooper sold his baseball team and went back into rock'n roll, then drank a couple of expressos and smoked salvia -- he might sound like this too.
