Centennial (VHS, 1997)

Centennial shows a complete story from beginning to end.

It is on VHS.
Although there was a recent DVD release (Aug 2008)
That DVD version has changed, shortened and cut the original series.
The VHS version is the complete uncut version.

Yes its in VHS/VCR quality
but a big plus in its complete uncut entireity, if your new to this series then quite possibly the compact smaller DVD set would do nicely or if you remember the original series when it aired or want to see the original series, go for the VHS version.

I never received the Centennial tapes. I contacted the seller, he gave me a ficticious UPS shipping code and I have complained to E bay and Pay Pal. As of this date which is well over a month I have gotten no help. He has accepted the money from Pay Pal and sent no package. Glad to fill you in on my second problem with E bay, the first of which was rectified by the selling company, who had to threaten the shipper with a loss of business. Hack

This is an incredible story. I had seen it years ago and wanted to be able to sit down in my living room and watch it uninterrupted. I am so pleased with my purchase.

Bought this item as a gift for a family member. They watched the series and they are somewhat hard to buy for. They LOVED IT!!!

I don't know how the product is. I never received it. It was mailed via
video mail, which I never received. The seller, then said a replacment would
be sent. However, several other things prevented that from happening, so I
did not receive the product. I did receive Paypal credit.

Unfortunately, I never received the item purchased after being assured it was mailed to me 2 times. I have received a refund of the purchase price.

bid for centennial tapes, paid for tapes....NEVER RECEIVED TAPES....got no help from ebay or paypal....seller gave me bogus addresses & UPS info... sounds like we have a scam going here.

I had never seen this movie but my husband had. He wanted it again, so for Christmas I bit the bullet and bought it for him. He was so happy! We sat and watched the whole thing, it was an amazing story. It even riveted my children to sit down and watch it.
Interesting, historically correct and very well made, I would recomend this movie for everyone.

This is one of the great movies to come along in many year. Everything about this film is great. It is a true 10.

I was spellbound by each tape! Could not wait to watch the next one! I recommend these tapes for all ages! What a wonderful history lesson with a personal touch. Seeing the familys be born, grow up, age and die was both heartwarming and heartwrenching! Loved, Loved, Loved the movies!

I have always loved this miniseries and its wonderful cast of characters and its historical significance. I have read Michener's book CENTENNIAL and feel that it really sticks to the book. It is hard to find one of equal value now on television.

It's a great representation of Early America and the settling of the vast West. It's stories are with fictional characters but could have happened and are very factual in how things proceeded in building the West from start to present. You will enjoy this series even if you didn't feel drawn to history in school.

Filmed and storied in Colorado Territory, a mini-series of 12 episodes, it makes you feel a part of it as it leads you from the start of the West to the present.

It reminds us of home, having spent 45 years of our lives in Colorado and adjoining areas. Cost of this great series was prohibitive to us in the past, but now we can afford to own it for our own. Thanks to Ebay and Half.com.

We will watch it over and over again, keeping it to pass down to the next generation. I would like to have it on DVD eventually. It's that good!

I wanted these tapes since last year for a gift.I am very satisfied with them. The tapes are in excellent condition. They are like brand new.

I like the movie and was very pleased that I could find it. Also, since it is so old, I was afraid it would be worn out. However, much to my surprise, the videos were almost like new. Great movie. Good experience. Julia Thyer

I purchased it as a Christmas Gift for my lil' honey. She had seen it years ago, when it was a mini series, and loved it. It was what she wanted for Christmas. There are so many stars in it that I'm looking forward to seeing it too.
