Celtic Woman - A New Journey, Live at Slane Castle (DVD, 2007)

This is a fresh group, full of great songs and heavenly voices. I especially love hearing music of my heritage and these woman do it so very well. They sing so beautifully singly and together and makes for easy listening and relaxation. Great DVD and highly recommend.

This is an absolutely wonderful "journey". Having seen it on TV had to have our own copy to watch over and over as well as listen to over and over. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Excellent scenery with the castle as the backdrop. The lighting is excellent to accentuate the vocalist. The background music is traditional with emphasis on percussion. The group is harmonious and the songs are melodic and soothing to the hear. Traditional tunes are mixed with a variety of Celtic music for a combination which is superb. I especially enjoyed the beautiful "little pixie" with the violin who is very talented. I have never seen anyone dance so enthusiastically while playing a musical instrument in my life! She was the highlight of the production. I highly recommend this music and hope everyone enjoys it as much as I have. Irv Hopkins (2007)

Celtic Woman - A New Journey is lovely. It is not especially innovative (however, it is filmed in front of a historic Irish castle) and it is not brilliant. But it has a refreshingly clean sound and... it's pretty. And sometimes this is good. It has a nice concert feel to it. Visual treats, too. Beautiful women in beautiful costumes. Set is an expressive part of the whiole event. Well-filmed; you might feel a cool Irish evening breeze! Great to play when company arrives - especially if they're stressed. Lots to listen to and see, but not so brilliant it will intrude into your conversations. Has a place in my home! Also: check out their version of "Orinoco Flow" - great orchestra, band and chorus work here. Cool drums.

This is one of the best examples of modern, mixed Irish music I have ever seen. The ladies voices, both in solo and mixes are amazing! The production is excellent and sound mix is great, especially considering the lack of accoustics outside a castle!
The instruments used, both modern and traditional, harmonize well and add an interesting sound to the music. The 'Sprite" of a violist is truly great.

Was able to actually see these woman perform in Manchester, NH. Was one of the best performances I had seen in many years, since I am from Ireland and actually know Slane Castle, having this DVD was a no brainer. These ladies do put on a very nice showing combined with the other talents, contained within their group makes for a very pleasent experience. My only disappointment in the entire show was their inclusion of the Judy Garland's song from the Wizard of Oz. It would have suited them far better to stay true to their Irish Roots.... I personally think even with this inclusion within the DVD is was well worth the purchase price and it is something I will continue to enjoy years down the road. I fully recommend this DVD for anyperson that truly wishes to experience the Irish tradations of singing an perfermornce only the Celtic people are so famious for showing all around the world just what master's we Irish truly are...

Never in my life have I been moved by a musical group such as Celtic Woman. In fact, I pity anyone who has not had the chance to experience the beauty and talent that is displayed in this DVD. The clarity in their voices, the beauty in their expressions-is unmatched in my opinion. Each member of the group is a standout in their own right. This production is truly a gift to anyone who would call themselves a music lover!

I saw "Celtic Woman - A New Journey" on PBS and knew I wanted the DVD.
The songs are a blend of all things beautiful, the performances flawless, the choreography fresh, and the Celtic ladies themselves are at their very best. Newcomer Haley's rendition of "Scarborough Fair" is not be missed: her crystal clear voice is amazing.
I highly recommend this new journey. You won't be disappointed.

Loved the PBS special--fell in LOVE with these women!! This is the 2nd time I've owned this DVD. First one was stolen from my residence--wasted NO TIME tracking anothe copy down on EBAY!! The castle setting and superb orchestrations make this a MUST HAVE!! I attended a concert of Celtic Woman in Greensboro, NC and the absence of Hayley Westerna--as she is included in this DVD--was noticeable!! Hope she reunites with the group for further PBS specials!! Urge anyone who hasn't experienced this group and has an interest in New Age music--purchase this DVD and SEE FOR THEMSELVES!!

Watched the Celtic Woman on PBS and basically fell in love with them. They are a young group that sings music tha I love to listen to and watch. That is why I purchased the DVD and not the CD

Saw them for the 1st time on PBS...I thought there voices where enchanting. I had to have it for my collection. I also got CD for my vehicle.

I bought this as a gift for my Dad after watching it on PBS. Very nice production and quality of video and sound. It also was performed at the beautiful Slane Castle in Ireland. If anyone is fan of Celtic music (or especially Enya) they will like this video.

I saw it on PBS and they were absolutely Fantastic! Their voices have such excellent tone & variety, that it is amazing when they sing accapella. They put on a fantastic show. The instrumental are marvelous, and the band is incredible!
I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves music.

Flipping thru the channels, I happened upon PBS and heard the most incredible voices and was immediately spellbound...I'm a hard-rocking metal-head who digs guitar-oriented music from the 70's thru today...yet when I heard these lovely young ladies sing, I felt as if I had been given a gift from heaven. David Downes, the pianist and Conductor/Arranger, really knows how to pluck the heartstrings, and his arrangements of old and new songs (give 'Somewhere Over the Rainbow' a listen!...you'll gasp with delight!) are a breath of clean Ireland air...Each of the young ladies are astonishingly gifted vocalists (besides being absolutely beautiful...I hadda point that out....I'm a guy...) whose voices soar above the clouds and catch Angel Tears before falling back to Earth...and this is NO exaggeration. The song 'Orinoco Flow' was, I believe, originally covered by Irish singer Enya, but Downes and the Ladies gave it a whole new feel...the power and depth left me wanting more...I was so impressed that I bought all three available CD's and DVD's (they also have a Christmas Season offering) and if they ever come to Houston again, I will spend WHATEVER it takes to assure that me n' daWyfe get the best possible seats!! (I have a rambunctious 16 yr old Grandson fer sale, if anybody wants to housetrain him!) Seriously, if you haven't given these ladies a listen, you will do yourself a great service by buying this CD...it will become your INSTANT favourite!

This is truly one of the best things I've ever bought. I saw this special on PBS, twice, and was so enthralled I had to get it. The singing is just absolutely beautiful. The women are beautiful, and the music is otherworldly. It's inspiring to see how wonderfully these women can sing (and play), and the mixing of the singing with the orchestra and drums is truly unique. I love this DVD, I think it's probably better to have than the CD, which doesn't have as many songs or any filming, and I would recommend this to anyone who appreciates music or just wants to increase their exposure to beautiful and uplifting things in life.

This is the best DVD from this group of five women and one frisky blonde fiddle player that you will ever find. Celtic Woman is a group that I first saw on my local PBS channel and I had to find one of their CDs and after listening to that I wanted more. That search lead me to this DVD. It is the best Live performance that I have seen. The DVD also has additional footage that shows how the Castle was transformed into the beautiful background for the concert. You will want to settle back with a glass of your favorite wine and may be some cheese and fruit, prop up your feet and be rewarded with one of the best concerts of your life. You also may want to do as I did and make yourself a copy of the origional and watch the copy and safe guard the origional. This is one that you will watch over and over again. I have recommended it to a friend that host a "Pink Day" once a month with some of her lady friends. Chill a bottle or two of your favorite wines and invite the group over to watch the DVD. Nobody will leave disappointed. Buy your copy now! If you could give anything on eBay more than five stars this DVD would get eight on my scale!

I was interested in buying this dvd, so I looked on ebay. The experience was very easy to find and to follow to the conclusion of the dvd arriving at my house. I like the ability to find what I want and to have it delivered to my house for a reasonable price without having to fight a crowd. This is a music video which is masterfully done. This is a musical concert featuring solos, duets, trios, quartets, and more. The instrumental portions of this music will make your hair stand on end from the thrill of such precision accuracy of timing and notes.

The video quality is excellent. But the sound, my goodness, the sound is full-spectrum high fidelity and sonically puts you on stage in the middle of the concert! The people in the audience could not possibly have had this good of a seat!!! If you don't use your surround sound system with a subwoofer, you're not doing this video justice! My system is not audiophile grade equipment, but this video makes it sound like it's that quality!

The harmony in the female voices is awesome! This production is well worth the ticket-price of the DVD purchase. This video was selling on PBS for a pledge of over $125.00, and I just could not see myself spending that kind of money, even though the production looked outstanding.

This is one of my favorite videos of all time. The arrangement of "Over The Rainbow" is far better than any other version I have heard thus far. I could listen to it over and over again. The harmonies are spot-on and excellently executed.

I'm sure there are many musical descriptive terms which I don't know which could be used to describe all that one encounters in this concert. Suffice it to say that this video and stage production are good enough to enrapture everyone from the novice to the jaded critic. After seeing it, the very first thought you will have is of someone with whom you want to immediately share this wonderful gift of music.

I am always looking for an audio video experince. My cd collection inclulde every Enya ever made. Like watching something that makes me want to hold my lady close. The settings and the voices these ladies impart makes my girl snuggle up to me. Very relaxing and soothing. Something to watch in bed and set the sleeper to.
