Celtic Thunder - Take Me Home (DVD, 2009)

My husband told me about the PBS special he saw of Celtic Thunder and knew that I would really enjoy seeing this group! We rented the DVD first and I knew I had to have it to watch and share it over and over.
I then found out they were coming to our area and immediately bought tickets for my daughters and myself. The "Take me Home" theatrical show was the same as the DVD except you didn't get the closeups and special shots that you do in the video! My daughters actually enjoyed the DVD more because they could see the show from a much better angle than our seats at the theater!
The performers are 5 guys who are unique unto themselves. They not only sing together in amazing harmony, but they also perform solo. The men come from different parts of Ireland and are different ages ranging from 17 to 40's. They were chosen for the group by audition but their voices blend so well you would think they are part of the same family! They each have their own style and sound which makes for an enjoyable entertaining show!
I highly recommend this for all ages and all music lovers!

My favorite IRISH group!!!! DVD is better than seeing them on PBS. I can watch & listen anytime!!!! It takes me back to Ireland in many ways!!!!

I first heard Celtic Thunder on PBS; then, I was fortunate enough to see them in concert in October of this year. They know how to put on an outstanding show; therefore, although having a CD of theirs is nice, having a DVD is much better so you can see them through all their costume changes and interactions with each other.

I had seen this group on pbs and enjoyed them so much I had to have a copy. I throughly enjoy listening to them daily while on my computer. Can't wait til the next dvd comes out.

These guys are excellent. Very entertaining. Great voices, good to look at, excellent performances.

This is my second Celtic Thunder DVD. This is one of the most talented groups you will ever listen to. Paul has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. I would highly recommend this group to anyone who loves music, especially Irish singing, but they sing all types of music. They have already given me hours of delight.

Great quality, much better show without the PBS commercials. Much more enjoyable, all the extra songs made for a very entertaing two hour show, A++++.

I listen to all types of music genre, and I have to hinestly say, that this DVD is one of the best I have seen in many years. The sound clarity is truely nice. The band themselves are professional in every way. This DVD is a must have for any lover of Celtic music.

Not as good as the first DVD in picture quality or sound but still enjoyable. A lot of the same songs with a few new ones. I was hoping it would be a whole new show with no more than two or three repeats. The guys have matured and seem to really enjoy performing. Lots of interaction with the audience which was great.

I first saw this group on Public Access and enjoyed their music. I have since bought both DVD's and have been very satisfied with their 2nd DVD. The DVD of the show allows for much more music, 28 or 29 songs, versus the 8 to 10 sons from the PBS show. These guys will grow on you. Very entertaining. The only negative comment is that I bought the DVD from 2008 and 2009 and they are very similar with many of the same songs, but they improve with the second DVD.

The guys in Celtic Thunder have worked their magic again. In spite of shakey cameras that made me dizzy, (well, that COULD have been Ryan's fault!) the music and performance is excellent. The spirit and excitement of the live concerts translated well to this recorded show. The real thing LIVE is an awesome experience, but this will do until they come to a city near you. I highly recommend Take Me Home and I'm looking forward to The Storm this Fall!

Celtic Thunder is an awesome group. I love their music, both the ones they have written and the ones they have re-sung. Personally, i like the first one the best but this one is also a great show. AWESOME GROUP!!!!

After buying the first one I thought this one would be out of the ballpark. Wrong - whoever did the filming did a lousy job. The first one was so much better. I was very disappointed and would not buy it a second time.

I was expecting CD/DVD quicker, but I did not receive, despite payment. Today, I get message that they are tracing first one and sending me a new one. Got instructions if I received 2. That was helpful.
