Celtic Thunder: The Show (DVD, 2008)

I decided to buy this DVD because seeing this show once on PBS was not enough. Each of the four men and one teenager brings his own unique style and voice to the group. Each has the opportunity to perform a number of solos and they blend together marvelously when singing as a group. I liked them all. If I had to say which songs were my favorites, they would be Heartland, The Old Man, A Bird Without Wings,The Island,Steal Away, Remember Me, Ireland's Call, and Caledonia.

This DVD is non-stop entertainment featuring 27 songs plus a bonus. If you saw this on PBS and enjoyed it, you are in for a treat if you purchase the DVD as the bonus track shows some beautiful scenery from Ireland. Additionally, the special feature contains interviews with each of the five and we get a little more insight into their personalities. This is one that I will enjoy watching time and again.

I bought this DVD after seeing the live show. It is the most amazing combination of wonderful male voices performing songs selected for their different ranges and singing styles. There is something for everyone here: Classic, Contemporary, Traditional Irish, and Ballads. There are some familiar songs such as Desperado and She but the original songs written for the show are really a special treat. The show is sexy, employing lots of movement on the part of the singers and this physicality works well for the men. It is heartbreaking, funny, and uplifting. Since it is a recording of their very first live performance, the excitement of the singers is palpable. Their is an innocence and naivete that is endearing, especially when you view the bonus material, including the interviews. After dozens of viewings I have not tired of it yet and added the CD's to my collection and to my mp3 player as well.

I really liked this DVD. It is about Celtic Thunder, the new sensational singing group from Ireland. The singers are all very talented ,and my favourite song is " Ireland's Call" . I really liked this dvd because it shows how good celtic music can be, and there are good singers in it.
This is a good dvd for the patriotic , and it will thrill you to watch all the singing.

This is a spectacular production! The DVD is much better than watching the show on PBS plus you get more on the DVD - a couple additional songs, interviews. So unique from your usual "group" type performances. You don't have to love Irish music to enjoy this great DVD! Hope I don't wear it out!!!

the first time I see this on tv I just enjoyed it so much I had to have it. the music is out of this world.

I love this DVD as I loved the show on PBS. Each of the guys in the show is so talented and their voices are beautiful. The choices of songs also are good as they have a wide variety. I especially like folk style music and there is quite a bit of that on this DVD. The photography is very clear and clean. It is the next best thing to being there in person!

These guys are amazing. They all sing great, harmonize well, and as you can tell from their performances, they enjoy what they are doing. Would recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys good music.

I actually bought this for the second time, our first one disappeared as many things do with two young kids. We enjoy it that much and can only go so long without it. Even my young kids like the music and watching them perform. After seeing "The Show" my husband and I went to see them in concert! Nothing but good things to say!

My son and I really enjoyed this DVD. Fabulous singing and good songs. I like how each of them has great vocal skills and they have songs showcasing each of them.

Originally, I borrowed this DVD from the library because I love Celtic music. When I played this DVD, I couldn't stop watching it because not only are the singers voices wonderful, but the entire show was wonderfully done. So, I decide to purchase not only the DVD but also the CDs. I had never heard these songs before and now I play it everyday on my car's CD player and on my computer.

My wife and sons, all who love music, have played the dvd every chance they get. The group of 5 men have amazing talent. The group is made of 5 young men ranging from ages of 15 to 40, all with an amazing voice and talent to entertain. The instrumental in the program is equally impressive, from the drums, to strings and everything. The visuals are awsome as well, very colerful.If you enjoy music and the arts, then this dvd will make an excellent addition to your collection.I highly recommend this item. It is well worth the money.

These guys are AWESOME! If you like Celtic music it's a definite must have...their voices are unbelieveable and in the early shows Damien is 15 years old and has a voice you would not believe!!!! I decided to buy it because I am always searching the tv listings for the next time the show comes on PBS and set the alarm on our tv to remind us...now we can watch it any time we choose. Again, if this is the type music you like, you would definitely enjoy watching them! We're hoping to be able to get tickets to see them live when they come to our area later this year!!!!!!

I bought this DVD because I saw this group on PBS and they are wonderful. The music is so very lovely and all five of the singers have special voices, especially in harmony. I have had this DVD for about two weeks and have watched it three times, so I guess that says it all.

I saw the show on TV over a year ago and bought the CD "Celtic Thunder: Act II" so I know what I'm getting with this DVD. I was impressed with the vocal capabilities of all of the singers and the music to the songs was fantastic. I'm buying this DVD for my mom...she wants it so she's getting it, of course I will watch it too, I like it.

This is one of the best DVD's I have. I bought it for my granddaughter, as I was going out to Oregon to go to the Celtic Woman Show with her, and wanted her to see the Celtic Thunder DVD to see how good they both are. She just played it and played it while I was there, and really loves it. I will be glad when they make another DVD, I will certainly buy it as soon as I hear a new one is out. They are certainly a wonderful singing group, and their voices blend so well when singing together. I also enjoy the funny bits that are thrown in. I would recommend this DVD to anyone who enjoys music.

great group of young men singing live on stage a real keeper!

this disc was used to raise money for educational television, and i wanted it but could not afford the price for the telethon. i was very happy to find it!

This is an EXCELLENT performance! The men are excellent performers and the songs are wonderful. Phi Coulter did a fabulous job!

I love it! I have watched it so much already; it's great even just for music in the background. I would definitely choose the DVD over the CD though. It is so beautifully choreographed with the dancing and little bit of acting. For being five soloists it is tied together very well. It's just good. Anyone who loves Celtic music and scenes of Ireland will enjoy this.

My 16 year old daughter hasn't stopped watching it since it arrived. She watches it everyday sometimes two or three times a day!!!

The music in this video is phenominal I first saw this on Public Broadcasting Station but was never able to catch the whole thing. Now I can watch it anytime. It is a must see for anyone who appreciates great music.

This is a fantastic concert. Well worth the money and the time it takes to watch it. This is my second copy, my first one was lost and I had to have another one. I watch it frequently. It is wonderful.

My wife and I both love Celtic Thunder and enjoy the Irish music.It is very pleasant entertaining music. I would highly recommend it.

Excellent voices and age ranges. The music and performances will fire you up, have you rolling on the floor laughing and bringing tears to your eyes. These guys are extremely talented and with their various vocals and background it's amazing that they have blended so well.
