Celtic Art ~ a timeless tradition!

Maybe it's genetic (my grandmother was born in County Sligo, Ireland) or maybe it's the use of line and color...Celtic art ~ and books about ~ it are rather irresistible to me!
I purchased this book for my niece, who is really "in-to" Celtic art. Young people seem to have the patience for these intricate details and designs!
Although I admire Celtic art and have taken college level courses in it, it's very demanding on the eyes.
This book presents a good balance between the history and background of the Celts and their magnificent & colorful decorative arts. Nor is the book too technical or complicated. Actually, the author does NOT give diagrams, showing how to create Celtic art. Instead, she offers page after page of her own excellent artwork, along with some Celtic lore & legend.
My niece, Perry Adele, is having a wonderful time with this book. She can draw knot work free-hand and I'm very proud of her. Perry has recently sold three art cards on eBay and has several up for auction now (Please see my items for sale) The book is "a keeper" and I highly recommend it for any art student or art history buff.
One minor complaint is that I wish the author gave MORE historical information regarding Christian symbolism in Celtic art...but that kind of research would require many more pages ~ perhaps volumes!
An enjoyable, rich treat for the viewer and valuable resource for the artist...you won't be disappointed with the Celtic Art Source Book by Courtney Davis
