This scope is a good for a new stargazer. It is fairly easy to handle, very easy to transport. This makes it great to take to rural areas to view the stars. It can also be mounted on a standard camera tripod giving more stability (it comes standard with a table top plastic holder/mount). The main drawbacks are that there is no finderscope, and you need some experience at starhopping to fully enjoy. This would be an okay scope to learn to sky hop with.
