Opera phenoms Carreras and Domingo have a go at 21 Christmas standards, with sleek pop crooner Cole sitting in for third tenor Luciano Pavarotti. The trio tackles yuletide favorites from "Winter Wonderland" and "I'll Be Home For Christmas" to traditional hymns like "Silent Night" and "O Joyful Children."
The bold, larger-than-life voices of Carreras and Domingo interact with the pop stylings of Cole in a way that puts a previously-unheard spin on these songs. The amalgam of styles keeps these old favorites sounding fresh and invigorating.
