Cats: The Musical (VHS, 1998)

This was a beautiful show. The only thing that made it difficult was that the caption kept coming up that it was a copy made for the industry and was not to be copied or used for mass viewing. This came up about every ten minutes and was annoying. My husband and I loved it and will watch it many times. the filming was wonderful, the music was compelling and the cats were tremendous. It was a great show as evidenced by its long-standing run on Broadway and as a touring vehicle.

I first saw Cats during a public station fund drive and have been in love. My daughter has seen the musical at least 5 times and even dressed up like a cat (with real fur costume) for one. I purchased this for her because she loves it. I have to admit either you do or you don't. One of my favs and glad RumTumTugger makes her and her sister so happy.

I purchased the video for a friends grandchild, she was very happy, the video was brand new, never used. The price was right.

My daughter is a musical fan of broadway shows & she has been asking for vhs of cats. So I went on ebay & I found what I was looking for. My daughter loves the cats video so it the best item I could have bid on.

I'm not rating as excellent YET simply because I haven't watched the VHS yet (Christmas gift for my daughter)...but so far, so good!!! I purchased the musical for much less than expected, got it in the mail in the amount of time expected, and the condition was WAY better than expected!! The listing said "new", but I expected a beat-up kind of new...this was pristine! Great experience!

This VHS tape was the key component of my brilliant lesson plan! Early in June I knew I'd have to keep the 8th graders in my English class informed and entertained for 2 weeks after final exams ended on 6/15. So on eBay I shopped for and won Cats: The Musical. As a result, my students were busy for almost a week reading T.S. Eliot's poems about cats, viewing the musical which is based on these poems from "Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats" and writing their own poems about cats.

Just like being in the audience only better! The music is wonderful, words are all understandable and the cat-dressed characters idealize their parts. Bought as a gift to myself as I once saw it in the theater...from the nose bleed seats!
