The Cats' House by Bob Walker (1996, Hardcover)

I think this book is a fantastic idea, and a beautiful realization of that idea. The book is not a how to, although at the end there are some during and after shots and a couple pages with plans. This is a display of all the hard work that went into creating such a fantastical house for cats. Some of the pictures were close ups of the cats in the structures, and some of them were out of focus (more like the room was dark and they opened the shutter for a long time, so movement is captured) and they have a weird red glow. I wish there were more wide shots showing how the structures weaved through the rooms, but over all this is a beautiful book and I'll keep going back to look at it for inspiration.

I really want my kitties to have fun during the day while I'm at work. I rescue cats and have 10 who live with me out in the country. This book gave me so many ideas for cat friendly and enticing spots! While you may not be able to do all that Bob Walker has done to his home, I'll just bet you can use his ideas and come up with something your favorite feline will jump for joy over. It even has directions and "how to do it" instructions. This is my second copy, I lent my 1st to a friend, and never got it back.
