    Catherine vaulted from being a little known German princess to the greatest Empress of Russia after her husband was murdered. She was a controversial figure whose real life was as fascinating as the shocking rumors that surrounded her. This DVD is based on part of her own memoirs. Emily Brundi portrays Catherine, the empress who ruled Russia for 34 years. She made sweeping changes which gave her the reputation for being ruthless.
    This was a well done movie and I learned a lot about Catherine that I did not know before. It shows that the squeaky wheel does get the oil!
