Excellant movie. Had VHS version and switched to DVD version. I especially like the look Cary Grant gives Grace Kelly at the end of the movie when she is looking out from his villa and saying 'My Mother Will Just Love It Up Here'.

  Classic Cary Grant film
Review created: 03/10/08

A classic Cary Grant film directed by none other than the master filmaker Alfred Hitchcock. Those that remember the old days when films were about acting and not about special effects & CGI. Those that have not seen it will be sure to enjoy it for the first time. Those that have seen it will enjoy it again. I bought it because (A) i collect classic films and I have always enjoyed Cary Grant films (Father Goose is my favorite) (B) It is always sure to be a good film, no matter what mood you are in. The only thing i did not like about it is something i do not like about alot of films. There has and always will be times that stars miss a mark or flub a line. Most that do are good natured about it and "ham it up" for the most part. These outtakes are sometimes the best part about a film. In the old days, I am sure the studios were concerned about protecting the image of the stars and there fore made the choice to not keep these outtakes and instead sent them to the trash or to be shredded. These days however, it seems to be more about a budget than protecting the image of a star. Either way this movie is worth buying for one simple fact. The movie is good to watch and is always entertaining.

This movie with Gary Grant and Grace Kelly is one of my favorites. Grace Kelly is beautiful in this movie - she plays a stunning part and, of course, Gary Grant - what can one say about Gary Grant other than he is "awesome". The scenery, costumes, and other dress attire of the actors is wonderful!! JS

No problems with transaction. Great old movie and really enjoy it. The transaction between the seller and myself was great and shipping was within a reasonable amount of time. I only wish all of my transactions were this smooth.

An unexpected Hitchcock. Funny, sophisticated, joyful, and beautiful.
Of course Cary Grant, Grace Kelly and Monaco aren't bad either.
I love this film. It's a classic because it's classic.
Others often try to duplicate the banter, few succeed well, non succeed AS well.

Murder, Mystery, Intrigue - A Hitchcock Classic!
Review created: 08/13/07

One of my favorite Hitchcock movies, "To Catch A Thief" contains all the elements of his classic thrillers. It features two of my all-time favorite actors: the debonair Cary Grant as John Robie, "The Cat", a former jewel thief suspected in a rash of burglaries; and the always beautiful and radiant Grace Kelly as Frances, the spoiled heiress who falls for him.

It features stunning cinematography as well. This movie was made in the 1950's during a period when Hitchcock directed what many consider his greatest films, including "Rear Window", "Vertigo", "North by Northwest", and "Dial 'M' For Murder." All are great choices for anyone interested in the movies of Alfred Hitchcock.

Grace Kelly and Cary Grant make an interesting pair as the challange of Cary known as the cat burgler proves his innocence. With the young Grace known as Francine, who falls for him through the excitement of helping him steal jewlery for rich owners soon discovers everything is not as she thought.
This is a classic and well worth your movie shelf.

Wonderful Classic! They don't make movies like they used to. The scenery is breathtaking. Behind the scenes footage was great. Documentary on Edith Head was also a treat!
