Cat Stevens - Majikat (DVD, 2005, CD Included)

I purchased this concert on a whim one late evening. I had enjoyed Cat's music way back in the 70's and was disappointed (but not surprised) when he exited the performing world to pursue his personal salvation. When he retuened to the recording studio recently I had thought about picking up some of his older music, and this seemed a great collection, at least from a distance. This set of musical works is in fact a great sampling of both his best known releases and some of his less popular efforts. His live renditions are studio quality and performed with his usual introspective persona. Compared to recent concert stylings, this is a very subdued concert, but one that is much more personal rather than glitzy. I didn't expect to be so impressed with 30 year old music, but have watched the concert 3 times and still enjoy it as much as the first time. It's good to have Yusuf back in the studio, but he's got a ways to go to match the warmth and human touch of this old stuff.

If you like Cat Stevens (Yusuf Islam), then you'll love this DVD. I own many, many music DVDs and this is one of my best and favorite. The concert captures Cat Stevens in his last tour as Cat Stevens. After this tour, he left the stage as Cat Stevens and would emerge as Yusuf Islam.

I really liked the recent interview with Cat. This has an excellent recording quality. Wanted to see the concert AGAIN as I saw it in 1976 and it brought back memories. I liked the special edition package with CD AND DVD !!

This was Cat Stevens' last series of concerts in 1976. All of his classic songs are on it. There's a new song on it (new at the time - Two Fine People), where he didn't have the words totally worked out -- they changed by the time Greatest Hits came out. Kind of fun to hear it as a work in progress. This particular DVD came with a CD too! Highly recommended for Cat Stevens fans!

Because it's brand new, wasn't lied to about it. Got what I paid for. Will buy from this seller again. Good listening to a brand new DVD + CD collector's edition. Has some great oldie's on it & a few I haven't heard before.

The artist formerly known as Cat Stevens (now known as Yusuf Islam) is a legendary artist and I loved seeing his Majikat concerts in Montreal and Toronto, so I wanted this as a reminder of how good he was at live performances.

There is no one like Cat Stevens when it comes to his lyrics and performance and dynamics in delivery He uses his Mind Body and Soul.. His Body is in flight!
This concert really leaves me with epiphanic Moments and I realize that He was so unique about what he wrote .. Everyone was writing bout' problems they were having and He was thirsty and searching .. Like most of us were back then ..and still are today ... I tell u , u wont be disappointed in buying this DVD and CD Bonus~
