Cat Stevens - Majikat (DVD, 2004)

Growing up on Cat Stevens music was a pleasure. Listening to "Father and Son", "Moonshadow", "Wild World" , "Sad Lisa" and so many other songs was always a welcome departure from the daily humdrum with his imaginative lyrics and beautiful guitar and piano playing. This live DVD brings me back and does more. The energy of the musicians on stage, the perfect coordination of instruments and Cat Stevens just being a young man enjoying his music come together as an exceptional live performance that can transport you. You may find yourself singing along as you journey to the past. It is a great live DVD and it hasn't offered me any clues as to why Cat Stevens left music for so long. He is back now with "Indian Ocean" which I haven't heard. Majikat is well worth it if you liked Cat Stevens.

This is a superstar at the top of his game. His interactions with the band and the audience are outstanding and very real. All this from a man who did not want to be a rockstar and shortly after this tour converted to Islam and renounced all the fame. Don't let what happened after this tour keep you from enjoying a truly spectacular performer and show. He flat out rocks on this DVD and shows what a performer should bring to his performances. I bought this because I was a big fan of his at that time and was not disappointed with what I got. Anyone who was a fan of his music really should by the DVD/CD combo you will not be disappointed!

This a such a great collectors item. Cat Stevens inspired alot of my music creativity as well as career. This is a treasured keepsake of a fantastic singer songwriter no longer available to see in concert. I will treasure this for years to come. Sincerely, Chad Thibodeaux - singer/songwriter
