    NARRATED BY GEORGE GUIDALL Unabridged

I feel like I have truly lost a good friend with this series. I have read all her books from day one and treasure most all of them, but something has happened to her writing ever since they began to plan the 150th anniversary of the town's founding, some two books back. I don't get the sense that Ms. Braun is doing the writing anymore. The warmth and coziness that made up Pickax and its residents is gone. In this book alone it was mostly ramblings of past books....rehashing things that have been done or talked about....to death! I was shocked when two of the mainstay characters died and then nothing more was heard....no funeral arrangements, speeches, etc. So sad....I feel like a member of my family has died. I was almost hoping that at the final chapter of the book Ms. Braun would announce that this was the final book in her series....but instead a dull postscript with Quill interviewing Braun on things we have heard before, over and over. My dear friends.....Quill, Koko and Yum Yum, I shall miss you, for I won't be buying anymore "Cat Who" books. You truly did drop a "bombshell."
