Koko Steals the Show HARDCOVER BOOK

I've been reading Ms. Braun since her first book, and even though some were better than others, you still want to read about Koko, Yum Yum, Qwill and the people of Moose County. It's an on going story....or soap opera, of sorts, that keeps you riveted until the next book.
In this 25th novel, Ms. Braun has Thelma Thackeray, a Hollywood legend, coming home to Pickax, the place she was born. Thelma plans to buy an old opera house and turn it into a film club. But just as she moves back to town, her Amazon parrots are birdnapped. James Qwilleran (Qwill) thinks this may have to do with the recent death of Thelma's twin brother. Koko, the cat of 60 whiskers, is to make his debut in the new Kit Kat Review at the film club, but first he will need to help his master find out who committed the dastardly deeds. He steals the show in the end by not taking his stage sedative and points to the real culprit instead.

This is another great book by Lilian Jackson Braun. While journalist, Jim Qwilleran works to solve the latest mystery in Pickax, 400 miles north of everywhere, he looks to his Simease cat, Koko for his help in uncovering clues. Koko and Yum Yum are very important family members to Quill. In this story, the locals plan a fund raiser "Kit Kat Revue" to raise money for the animal shelter and placement of the kittens in a loving home. During the parade of cats, Koko, who had failed to eat his meals with a light sedative in it, jumped off the stage, into the audience, thus bringing down the house! He could only be retrieved when Quill yelled out the word "Treat"! This is book 25th book in this series.

Lillian Jackson Braun does it again!!!

Once again the dynamic duo of Jim Qwilleran and his very intuitive Siamese, KoKo, are working on another mystery that includes the return of an original native of Moose County who's in her eighties. The fun, and mystery, are rampant in this fun mystery that is, once again, very hard to put down!! Enjoy!!

  The Cats are dead!
Review created: 03/27/09

#25… As with many authors that write a loooong series of books and start getting up in years the quality of the work goes down. This book is no exception. she does not have the cats playing nearly big enough parts. The relationships of the well-established locals in the series were vague and shallow, only the names were familiar. The mystery was too predictable. Sorry Lilian you have lost a fan.
