Description
The Belmont family had become famous for its vampire-hunting skills, with their most notable kill being Dracula. After several generations, the Count awakens from an eternal sleep, ready to exact his revenge on the Belmonts, settling the score once and for all. Little does he know that you are his worst nightmare! Using the family's trademark weapon a whip you must take on everything Dracula sends your way, including the Cerberus, Minaurus, and Salamander. Through more than seven levels of action, you'll fight a horde of evil undead monsters that are hungry for Belmont blood. Depending on the choices you make throughout the game, you can go down several paths, resulting in a game with virtually limitless possibilities. Will you be the one to finally lay Dracula to rest, or will the family "business" be as busy as ever? Play CASTLEVANIA: Dracula X and find out.

SNES Dracula x I wish it was better

    HI
Im an older gamer with lots of exposure to games from the 1st pong titles to the newest RPGs & action titles.
I say that to reveal I have expirance as a gamer for over 25 years on all gaming systems & most arcade games that have existed within those years.
I an completely unbiased & want to help you get the most "fun" out of your gaming dollars.
This review is more geared to Parents & an older audience, But may be helpful to younger people with limited money to spend as well.

I Owned this game for awhile & These are the views i have of it.
Its a nice Collectable for the SNES & wasn't in high production even when it was originally released.
Im sure Konami didnt want too many people to get thier hands on such a poor game & limited production partially based on that.

If you are a collector & are buying this title for collector reasons I'd say buy it if the price is fair.
But if you expect a game thats lots of fun & another Good castlevania game to enjoy like castlevania IV I strongly recomend Passing this up.
The game runs very poorly & slow down kills any real fun thats there.
You will likely die often due to the game slowing & the game is hard without the slowdown.

It will cost you alot to buy this for SNES & Its absolutely not worth the cost to play. $40.+ for the cart alone, $100.+ complete
There are many games on the SNES & other systems that are cheaper & much better.
    You have been warned.

My numerical rating for this game is, 1-10 higher is better.
Its an 8=9 graphically for a SNES game.Looks nice!
The game play is a 4-5 poor due to consistent fluctuations in game speed & frame rates/ It slows down & "plays poorly" most of the time!

This game is not even close to the quality of the other castlevania(IV) for the Super Nintendo. If (IV) was a 10 then Drac X is a 4 at best.
I was "extremely dissapointed" with DraculaX!

Thanks for your time & i hope this helps you decide if the game is worth it for you.

Try the other 16 bit castlevanias,
Super Nintendo Castlevania IV: A great short but sweet game. 1 of the best SNES games.

Sega Genesis BloodLines: This game is great & multiple characters to start with.

Heres a little note for Hardcore gamers & Castlevania fanatics,
Buy a U.S. "Turbo Grafx Duo" $250.ish & the pc engine/TG cd version of the game DRACULA X RONDO OF BLOOD $150.ish. Its disputably the Best castlevania game.
please take note that the TG game is only avaliable as a Japanese import.
The full setup to play the TG version is around $400. for a used TG "Duo" system & the game. TG was an Expensive and a too often over looked system.
Best yet this title is comming to the sony PSP soon, buy that version it will be the best value by Far.
    Have Fun
