Ever since Castlevania: Circle of the Moon was released on the same day as the Game Boy Advance, I have made time to play each and every new handheld installment in the series, no matter how busy I may be - this is not something I can say about, well, pretty much ANY other game! Dawn of Sorrow is unique in that it is the first direct sequel, and I must say I was slightly worried, as I always am, that the formula might be growing stale, but oh glorious day when I purchased this game and, as always, my fears were proven unfounded! Seriously, this is absolutely one of the best and most worthwhile games on this wonderful little system - both the button controls and the use of the touch screen are natural and easy to get used to, the graphics are somewhat understated but perfectly suited to the title, and the musical score is phenomenal. Oh, and one more thing - there are enough side quests and hidden treats that it is more than worthwhile to come back and replay the game at least once or twice after you've finished it initially. Summary - A must-own title that really sets the bar for what should be expected in action platformers!
