    This camera has gone with me on two vacations now, and some day to day stuff. It is small enough to fit in a pocket very nicely. You should get a good memory chip for it (I got a 1 GB for it). It has features to spare, and if you get good batteries for it (quality 2500mAh rechargable AA's), the batteries last a long long time. I brought 2 sets of spare batteries on a trip to Maui, and never needed them! The optical zoom is good enough for a small point & shoot, and I am very happy with it. Highly recommended.
    >>>>>P.S. If you hate the "lag time", (the time from when you press the button to the time the picture is actually taken), then this is the camera for you. This little camera is the fastest of all the cameras I have looked at, which is a very important thing for me!!!<<<<<
