Cash McCall (VHS, 1994)

This movie is one of my all-time favorites and from the hey-day of James Garner (Cash McCall) and Natalie Wood (Miss Austin) at their prime. Cash, whose mother's maiden name is "Cash", has a reputation from those who don't know him, as a corporate raider who buys companies and then sells them off piece-meal.

Cash McCall is actually a pre-curser to Warren Buffett, who buys companies and fixes them and usually resells them and maitains holdings in many other companies. His interest in Miss Austin, whom he met the previous Summer, leads him to buy her father's plastic company, as he is wearing down from competitive pressures. Mr. Austin is misled by his industry peers into believing he got a bad deal and also feels guilty about not informing McCall about the stranglehold his main client was pressing onto the company.

All works out in the end and Cash gets the girl and a new perspective on his life in the investment world.

I had seen the movie years ago & decided I wanted to add it to my collection. I liked the movie & the performers so I am glad I now have it.

The product was as advertised and appears to be of good quality. Shipment was quick and packaged well. I have not viewed the movie as it was sent to a friend as a gift.
