Had pretty BASIC coverage of several methods of wood carving. Very little depth into details of either. If you have no experience and no other books about wood carving, it would give you some insight. If you have any experience or any other books RE: carving wood, you will probably find it pretty shallow. Would not purchase again.

I put rating good, because this book is very good, but still, not excellent. I bought this book, because I am interesting in carving wood and I am practicing it as well. So, when I bit for this book, I saw that price is really appropriate for any kind books, so for this also. When I receive "How to carve wood" I was pretty suprised about content quality. I doesn't matter that it is used. Until you can read what is written there and see the pictures, you can use it. Inside of this book is information about carving tool sharpening, use and how to pick correct one from among. If you are a person more ecocentric, than anthropocentric I encourage you to get it and use it.
