Cars (Blu-ray Disc, 2007)

If you have a Blu-Ray player and a 1080p display, this movie is a must have. It will become one of your demo disks that you use to make your friends say WOW! The picture literally pops off of the screen. The audio is top notch, as well.

As far as the movie, even though it is considered the least popular of the six major Pixar titles, it's a descent flick. If you have small children, they will love it. The writers also used a bit of double entrende to make parents chuckle here and there.

Highly recommended!

Cars is a fantastic computer animated movie by PIXAR. Great script, great charater voices, excellent amimation, funny jokes, perfect for the whole family.

As far as getting this on blu-ray or not: the sound and picture quality is worth it. The extras are OK and will appeal more to adults and older kids interested in how PIXAR made the movie. The "game" is tiresome and I can't see anyone at any age playing this more than a minute and then never going back to it.

You can find most of the Disney Blu-ray DVDs around $15 to $20. Cars is worth it. Enjoy!

I recently purchased a Blu-ray player and the choice of the first movie to buy in this new format was obvious. "Cars" is my five-year-old son's favorite movie, and the DVD we had was scratched which caused the first few chapters to skip.

I previously had a Samsung 1080p upconverter DVD player (plugged into my 1080p HDTV set), and I thought the standard DVD edition of the movie was great. But when I saw the Blu-ray edition, I was really amazed.

The first scenes of the movie show the main character, Lightning McQueen, racing in the Piston Cup. On the Blu-ray edition, we could make out more of the small individual stickers on the race cars (which I was able to confirm by doing a side-by-side comparison against my upconverting DVD player). In addition, the individual headlights of the spectator cars in the stands were clear and distinct, as opposed to the DVD edition where these small details tend to blur together. Small details such as this show up much more clearly throughout the Blu-ray edition when compared to the standard DVD counterpart. These changes were evident enough that even my son was able to appreciate them.

The Blu-ray edition comes with a few additional extras compared to the standard DVD edition, but these are really not worth buying this edition by themselves -- an extra deleted scene and a game that can be played.

I'm told Blu-ray discs are more scratch resistant than standard DVDs, though we've only had this disc for a month so it's hard to tell yet how it will hold up. Since most of our other highly-played kid's discs end up scratched after a year or so, it will take some time to determine if this claim is true or not.

In short, if you're looking for a movie that will show off the excellent picture quality that Blu-ray can provide and that will entertain the family, "Cars" is definitely worth considering.

If you like Pixar you'll like Cars, story does carry on just a bit , besides that superb. Some of the best digital resolution as of yet with excellent flow to anamation. Some really humorous parts to the movie excentuated by brillant voice acting by some of the best actors in America.

This movie is one of the greatest disney movies ever made. Excellent story with a lifes lesson that kids can relate to.

This review won't be approved, because what I'm really reviewing here is this one, specific experience with the Half.com (an eBay subsidiary) PRE-ORDER system, not the product.

The movie itself was good, but I don't know where else to "sound off". Unfortunately, I rated the purchase positive by accident while doing a large group of items in feedback.

PRE-ORDER been VERY good for me, in general, and it's a fantastic idea; however, when you set your minimum condition to "Like New", and your Blu-ray DVD movie comes in a generic jewel case instead of in the original packaging, that's not exactly "Like New" condition. The condition refers to packaging as well as contents.

The movie itself, however, was in very good condition, and we love all Pixar movies.

I bought the Blu-Ray edition of Cars weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the features available and picture quality. My only complaint is that the regular dvd movies bring some extra stuff. Overall, I'd recommend the movie.

The Blu Ray on this is excellent....I bought it for my grandson and I enjoyed it almsot as mujch as he did.

I like this movie because it is perfect for the whole family. Kids will enjoy as well as adults. If you watch it in HD on Blu Ray it will blow you away. Visual effects and surround sound are out of this world!

It was exactly what I was wanting!! I was looking everyday for a good value and I finally came up and saw the BLue Ray Film and jumpm on it because it was a great value and film, I recommend it very highly!!!

The HD version of Disney's Cars is absolutely flawless. I'm not usually big on animated movies, but after seeing this on a commercial on an hi def station, I took a chance and of course purchased from Ebay to save some money. I have to say that I saved my first animated blu-ray purchase for the right movie! If you watch the special features, you'll see the huge amount of detail that went into making the movie. Recruiting real nascar stars from on and off the track to use as consultants and even as voice talent.

I would greatly recommend this movie for racing fans, Disney fans, and those that just love a great looking hi-def picture to show off that new tv. This is the showcase film to do it!

I purchased this movie as a gift for my girlfriend whom LOVES this movie. The quality of the picture ( assuming you have an HDTV to view it on ) is comparable to none. Crystal clear picture quality and Dolby Digital surround sound provides the user with the best possible viewing experience. And being a Blu-ray Disc movie, it's also packed with loads of extra features, including a car hunt game you can play while you watch the movie. This is a great family movie!

This blu-ray disc totally blows away the standard dvd. The picture is so much clearer and shows much more detail. The interactive cars-finder game keeps you entertained for hours on end. The ability to switch commentaries really gives insight to the movie. This is an awesome picture for those of all ages.

All around great story. If your a fan of stock car racing you'll love it! Pixar quality is top notch in this movie.

I desired not to see this DVD in Theatre. No time.

My girlfriend she knew that I did not have time to see 'CARS' in the movie. So, she bought 'CARS' DVD for me.
I confirm 'CARS' is a very good movie for you and your family and friends.

I love this movie and it sounds even better on Blu-Ray disc. The Blu-ray disc player is the best invention for stereo systems to date. The movie is very awesome! Excellent storyline and great for all ages, especially children!!

Although seller is advertising the product as used (viewed once), it is truly in brand new condition, and appears to have never been played. I really loved this movie. Blu-Ray sure added a lot to the experience of watching this one. I saw things that I don't remember seeing in the normal DVD version. I will watch this one many times.
