Chris Cornell ex-front man for the hard rocking bands Soundgarden and Audioslave, proves he has no limits when it comes to his musical talent. With his follow up to his debut solo album (Euphoria Morning),Carry On is jam packed with everything from hard rock to soulful r&b. Topping it all off with a haunting cover of Micheal Jackson's Billie Jean.
There is truly something for everyone on this cd!!!!

  Cornell delivers again!!

I've been listening to this album now for a couple of weeks, and I find the diversity quite refreshing. The fact that Cornell offers such variety in terms of his history is amazing. I can listen to the heavy "grunge" sounds of early Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog, or the more mellow sounds of his first solo effort 'Euphoria Morning' and now 'Carry On'.

I have been pleasantly surprised to find that something new catches my attention each time I listen to this CD, and I can already tell that it is one of those albums that I will not tire of quickly. Cornell and his rock-god voice deliver again! I highly recommend this album!

I'm an old-school Soundgarden fan, and was also down with Audioslave, but this album just didn't do it for me. As much as I hate to say it, it pretty much sucks. Sorry.

This is what a great artist can do with total freedom.

I've been a fan of Chris Cornell since I first heard Soundgarden in the early 90's, this continued through his time with Audioslave and his first two solo albums. Listen to his lyrics carefully - if you haven't already - there's a lot going on there, he's never just made rhymes to fit the melodies. This album is closest to his work in Audioslave. Carry On showcases his songs and vocals more than his previous work, it's not so much of a guitar driven record. If you can go see him live DO IT, it's a fantastic show. You might not think Soundgarden songs performed with only an acoustic guitar and vocals would work but it's an amazing portion of his show. If you like the later Soundgarden - particularly Superunknown - or the Audioslave CDs then Carry On might be for you. Buy It!

  Better slow

I really didn't care for his rock songs on this album, but he shone on his acoustic songs -- that might be where his talent really lies now.

  Carry On Review

Chris Cornell is a great artist. This album was not his best, but he has a few songs on the album that represent his energetic vocals seen throughout his career. I bought the album specifically for the Casino Royal theme and last track, You Know My Name. This could be his best song from his solo career, and was by far the best James Bond theme song written. Once again, the album was not his best, but enjoyable.

Just couldn't get into it - truly disappointing.
Review created: 02/05/08

I've been a fan of Chris Cornell for a long long time but I just can't get into this CD. After Euphoria Morning, it's disappointing. I enjoy No Such Thing, Arms Around Your Love and You Know My Name but the rest is forgetable. I just wish I could forget Poison Eye. What a stupid simple song. WHAT WAS HE THINKING? I understand artists "evolve" and like to create something different each time but I felt nothing after hearing this CD for the first time. I tried it again a week later to no avail. Unfortunately, this is a CD that will be collecting dust or waitting for my next garage sale.

where is the energy that chris once had ? Chris go back in time and remeber your roots from Soundgarden. That by far is your best stuff I dont recommend this album unless your into very slow music with little rock to it .

  Great solo album!

I love this cd! It gets better and better the more I listen to it and is on its way to being one of my favorites. It's different than anything he's done, which is refreshing. It's still Chris Cornell though...creative lyrics, great music, amazing voice! I think it shows his maturity personally and as an artist. The album has something for everyone and would fit in with any collection, regardless of your main music taste. I would definitely recommend it!

I think Chris Cornell showed creativity and diversity in his second solo CD. I think his voice sounds great and look forward to his future CD. In addition, all of the songs sound great live.

  Diverse and amazing album!
Review created: 07/04/07

This is a really great album with songs that get inside your head and stay with you. His voice is amazing, I can't get enough of it. Highly recommended, especially if you want to hear him doing something a little bit different, but with a style that is still distinctly Cornell. There's a little something for everyone here.

His sound is ever-evolving, it doesn't have to fit into a certain box. That's what is so exciting about this album to me. I love Ghosts for the optimistic and happy feeling it gives me. I haven't quite had that reaction to a Cornell song before. Disappearing Act has more of the familiar melancholy feeling and is really beautiful. Poison Eye has a lot of great energy. I really love this album.
