Which of us - even the most humble - hasn't looked in the mirror at our face every now and then and wished for a little help with the beginnings of that turkey neck, those droopy eyelids and jowls, and lines and wrinkles? If cosmetic surgery isn't an option for whatever reason, we often try every conceivable kind of lifting and tightening cream, lotion, or potion, usually with little or no results. If this sounds like you, take heart - help is on the way!
'Carole Maggio Facercise' is the updated 2002 version of Ms. Maggio's fine book first written in 1995. By following her careful instruction, it's not only possible, but PROBABLE that you will notice a dramatic transformation in the look of your face. The book is well-written in a glib, breezy and funny manner, but with the utmost sincerity. Carole Maggio has done thorough research over the course of 20+ years, consulting with cosmetic surgeons, muscular specialists, and physicians, and she's developed a series of 14 facial exercises that you do for 11 minutes, twice a day. That's it! Over time, by isolating and strengthening certain muscles, you can actually raise the eyebrows and lids, firm up the jawline and neck tissue, shorten and narrow the nose, tone the chin and cheeks, and give the skin a rosy, healthy glow. All of the exercises are explained well and illustrated with photos of Ms. Maggio herself doing them. There are also some advanced exercises included to target specific areas, plus a section on good skin care techniques. Not to be missed are the dramatic 'before and after' photos of people after only one week of Facercising. Photos don't lie! That's one reason why it's suggested that you take a baseline photo of yourself as you begin Facercising, and again periodically, so you can track your progress.
Make no mistake, though - diligence and consistency are the keys to this program. You must do these exercises regularly (at least 5 days a week, for 4-6 weeks) to see results, although most people can expect to see subtle differences within days! You'll begin getting those little "You look great!", or "your skin looks so nice - what are you using?" comments. Over time, as evidenced by the many testimonials in the book, you can take years off of your face, and "bend time's arrow the other way", as the New York Times puts it.
Facercise has been taught by Carole Maggio to celebrities, dignitaries, rock stars, politicians, athletes, and just plain wonderful people around the world for many years, with amazing results (you can even be trained to teach the technique to others). It's been written up in Marie Claire, Vogue, Elle, and other magazines, and was voted "one of the top 100 beauty products" by Harpers and Queen. If there's something so beneficial and dramatic that you can do that will cost you nothing but the price of the book, why not give it a try?
Cosmetic facial surgery is very costly ($3,000 for an eyelid lift, and upwards of $5,000 for a facelift), painful, and full of risks. We've all seen examples of plastic surgery gone awry, and faces of people who are no longer recognizable. On a personal note, I would rather spend that kind of money in my church, or to feed the hungry, or help the needy. I don't mind if I look a little more youthful at the same time, though!
