Canon PowerShot A1100 IS 12.1 Megapixel

I purchased the Canon A1100 after reading and comparing it with several other models. I have not been disappointed. It is easy to use with several settings fro auto to easy. The easy photo mode ensures quality pictures even with a dummy like me behind the camera. Small, light weight, full of features and still takes 12 megapixel photos. Great choice for the price.

I love the camera. The pics are great - the look of the camera itself is great. The only thing - the LCD display on the camera is not that great.

The memory supplied with the camera is very little - 18 pics. Batteries - 2 X AA some people find it good - to use AA as you can get them everywhere. But this is actually a cost cutting tool for the manufacturers, they dont have to supply battery - and so you have to buy rechargeable batteries separately - and a charger of course.

Canon - keeps great picture quality. I would recommend the camera - to all. If you want anything better - then go for DSLR cameras. I am a Canon - brand loyal and I feel the company is quality loyal.

The experience of getting the camera from EBAY horrible. I purchased, and made payment. Waited for over a month - no camera. Then raised a paypal case and got the refund. Took like forever. Then I bought the same camera from a local online store - 80$ more, than ebay, but got it in 2 days.

You must also buy - 4 rechargeable batteries - I recomment -2650 MAH (dont go for lower - atleast 2500), energizer rechargeable.
8 GB memory card - if you want to download all pics at end of the vacation.
Camera case of course.

The left right up and down buttons on the camera make a sound - as if they are loose. Overall great camera.

excellent pictures, fast turn on for first shot and fast second shot unless using flash. it was one of consumer reports recommended cameras. wanted a camera that had a view finder for outdoor shots(can't see lcd in full direct sunlight) and used aa batteries with a decent battery life so you can find new ones at any store if they go dead. also wanted one with at least 10 megapixel and at least 3x optical. this camera has 4x optical and 12.1 megapixel. also needed to be small for easy carry, if you want better pictures than this one you need to go to a digital slr that is big and bulky.

Our seller was a wonderful person who delivered a great product at a wonderful price. She also talked to the post office several times.

However, we never received the product. We can't report anything except that we lost 142 dollars buying nothing. Ebay did nothing to help when we contacted them, and we hope that one day that will send us some cautionary information such having insurance or making sure the postoffice man has the person receiving the package sign it. Also, we hope Ebay will be more responsible to send us some information on reimbursing us... we're still hopeful.

I love the color and the shape; its size is perfect for travel: not too small not too big; good quality of pictures;softness of colors;
I do not like the use of regular batteries; seem to wear out fast.

I love this camera. First, I love the color. Canon calls it a pink but I'd say lavender 2 toned. It's so easy to use. If you want the shot to come out perfect that all you do is hold it down for a second or two and then press it all the way down to take the shot and wow....awesome pics. Putting the pics to your computer straight from the camera is also another nice touch because if you've taken pics and uploaded to the computer, and then you take a few more pics and want to upload..it knows which ones you haven't transferred and only transfers the last few shots so you never have duplicate pics on your PC. I haven't even learned all the functions and I love it! It has the easy shot setting where all you do is point and shoot. All the cameras eat up the batteries but ever since I've been using the batteries made for the digital cameras, it has been lasting a long time. Elegant color, awesome shots and videos.....can't say enough good. I've always loved Canon and they still are making cameras better than the last ones. This one's my best friend.

Great camera - takes fantastic photos. I especially like the size(compact), the viewfinder feature, the 4X zoom (optical)and 12 megapixel capability.

It takes good pictures. It seems to be pretty simple and that is what I need. The price and value are the reason that I purchased it.

I've owned several different digital cameras over the years. The Canon PowerShot has been my favorite of them all. Easy to use. Takes excellent high quality pictures. Nice and compact. Would definitely recommend this camera.

Because this product is very nice , I have other camera but not compared with this. The pictures are excelents .

I love this camera very easy to use. Zoom is great. I liked the fact is came with a memory card. I give it two thumbs up.

the only thing wrong that I could find out about this camera is the turn on button is just a tad bit too small and takes a couple of tries to make it work, along with the zoom mechanism, maybe I need a little more practice..... other than that pics are fantastic .... easy to use.... great size if you need only one hand to shoot which I do 90% of the time.

This camera is full of surprises. So much in a little package. Everything about it is worth the money. It does everything...if you can figure it out. That is the only draw back. So many buttons..gadgets.. I have taken photos..I have taken videos..downloaded them in my computer. I know that there is so much more that I can do to tweet everything but it will take me some time to figure it all out. I wish it had only 3 or 4 buttons to operate it, though. I have no regrets for purchasing this camera, though, even though it has so many buttons and features.

What a nice camera. Not very difficult to use either. Pictures are excellent. I no longer have problems with blurry photos. Nice action shots. Nice nighttime shots too.l

This camera is easy to use, takes excellent pictures, and amazing video. I cannot imagine any features/functions anyone would want/need on a camera for everyday/family use that this Canon does not have. Like it much better than the double-the-price, Kodak that was returned.

I got the Canon a1100si and was very pleased with it! It had alot of tools for someone experienced but also an easy mode for a new photographer.

For the price this camera is great! It's very easy to use. The only cons I can think of are that it's a little bulky and heavy since it takes 2 AA batteries and the battery life is kind of short. But, it lasts longer with rechargeable batteries. It's also nice since all you need to do is pop a new pair of batteries when the old ones run out. Overall, I like the camera a lot, not only did I get it for a great price, it really takes nice pictures.

I especially liked the price I paid. I had another Canon camera that I lost which was similar. I enjoyed using it and feel for the price it's a great camera. I bought it initially to take pictures of my elementary music students before I retired. Great stuff.

Except the display everything is fine. LCD is not that much clear as I have experienced with other same range cam.

This is a very nice camera. Small enough for my wife to carry around in her purse and very easy to operate. Picture quality on easy mode, which my wife uses is very good and using the additional features produces some very nice shots! You will need to get a bigger SD card if you plan on taking several pictures becuase the included card does not hold very many. I would suggest a 4GB or an 8GB card for anyone who wants to make sure they don't miss a shot because the memory card is full. All in all a very nice camera at a very reasonable price.

This camera is so simple to operate it is perfect for a beginner. but the results are perfectly satisfactory for someone with much more experience.
I'm a complete novice but was comfortable with it as soon as I took it out of the box! The instructions are easy to understand, and confidence comes with practice.
