We use this printer at work. Its a workhorse! Excellent quality. Cannon discontinued it and I was very pleased to find one on Ebay. The ink is very reasonable at about $13.50 each.

  Canon Pixma iP4300 Inkjet Printer

I purchased a Canon Pixma iP4300 Inkjet printer several weeks ago to replace a Canon i850 that I had for about 5 years. I like having individual ink tanks and I particularly like this printer because it is about the size of the one I replaced. I also own a 4 in one HP, but the Canon is my favorite.

  Canon PIXMA™ iP4300 InkJet Printer

This printer is faultless. It does beautiful B & W and gorgeous color, both very fast. It set up easily, great directions and CD installation. It is many featured, separate envelope tray (or for photo paper); separate color cartridges (which do not have heads so they are cheaper, though not recyclable), adequate paperfeed, duplex printing, handles all weights of paper flawlessly, doesn't jam unless I run a staple through it. Since I bought it on Ebay you can't beat the price: $60.00 including S&h.

  Unbeatable!

Best printer for printing pictures I've ever owned.........and I've owned a few! I owned a printer exactly like this previously and when one of my kids managed to get a small screw stuck down inside (which broke the printer) I immediately started searching for another one just like it.

This product was a steal! Easy set up, best with high speed USB 2.0, and the Canon has turned out soem beautiful prints. Great quality at high resolution with matching paper. Graphics on paper with 115 brightness were outstanding. Customer service with Canon has been great, as well. I had a few questions on aligning Photoshop 7.0 and using various ICC profiles. They helped me get in the right direction and now color matching between preipherals is a breeze.
I have been using this printer since 1-10-08, and the inks are still half full!!
The dual feeds and two-side printing are invaluable time savers. I highly recommend this product for anyone wanting a great printer, but not ready to go "high-end".

A marked improvement over it's predecessor
Review created: 06/16/07

Pros:
Prints out great looking black and white and color documents quickly

Cons:
Proprietary and expensive ink cartridges.

Why did I need a new printer? When the predecessor printer, my Canon Pixma IP4200 died due to my carelessness, I was faced with a dilemma. The prior printer used ink extensively and expensively, so I bought the ink cartridges in volume and had easily $100 worth of ink tanks in inventory. Why did I buy this printer? It was clear that I would have to buy a printer that used the same 5 ink tanks as the IP 4200: A pigment-based black and dye-based black, magenta, yellow and cyan. The tanks cost around $14 each, with some quantity discount and discount bundles available. I knew that the IP 4200...

Very nice - they give you the printer - you buy the ink

Pros:
Good sharpness on the right paper. Generally good results on any paper. Small, unobtrusive.

Cons:
A bit slow on duplex - taking up double sided paper. No USB cable included.

Getting there It's a gem. I always liked Canon. People have complained so much about Epson, except for the very high end models. And I was replacing an old, slow, but actually very good HP 722c (which was 'hot' in its day). But the newer HPs were said to be just plagued with software and driver problems. And I didn't want to mess with that. I wanted a 'small footprint' on installation. And I got it. In fact, the physical footprint of the printer, itself, was that same as the small HP which it replaced. Setting up Couldn't have been easier. Using INCTRL4 to monitor changes made to registry and.

Canon Pixma iP4300 Delivers Excellent Prints!
Review created: 07/08/07
by: swb -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
Great photos, separate ink tanks, under $100.

Cons:
Some flimsy plastic components.

For a $100 printer, the Canon Pixma iP4300 delivers excellent photos and decent all around print quality. This review is based upon my first couple of days with the printer and printing photos on Canon Glossy Photo paper. More on that topic a bit later. The Pixma iP4300 is a basic ink jet printer. It doesn't have any screen for viewing prints or slots for media cards, so you have to use a computer for printing photos....unless you use the PictBridge connection. The printer has five separate ink cartridges (PGI-5 Black, CLI-8 Black, CLI-8 Cyan, CLI-8 Magenta and CLI-8 Yellow). This is one of...
