Canon PIXMA™ iP1600 InkJet Printer

Nice printer by Canon. Ink is expensive when bought through retailers. Lots of A/M vendors are coming out with cartridges soon. Can't wait for them to get here!

This printer came in a bundle I bought from EMachine it was a package deal it was 99.99 with a 50.00 rebate and its worth every peny and more.. it never jams is easy to operate a child could fix any problem they might have and is fast as lightening .. I buy sell and shop on ebay, and this is the printer of chooice for me. I really amd pleased that this came in my emachine bundle.. I like it morethan the emachine ,, Thats another story,. this printer is a keeper.

What do you want for $49.95 for a cheap printer? I refill mine all the time with a refill kit that was purchased on Ebay. The kit for the black and all colors was $12.95.
I must of refilled my black 4 times already and my colors refilled about twice.
Sometimes it doesn't pay to be stupid........now does it?
If you want to blow all your money buying these ink cartridges in the store,
go ahead.

this printer prints good color and it is easy to set up. looks great and I would say the ink is average to buy around the same price as others I would give this printer a A for looks and options. I say go for it and buy one if you are looking for a good prrinter and cheap this is the one.

The Canon iP1600 is an excellent printer for the price. It prints quickly and has great picture quality. The only negative point about the printer is it does not have a tray. Best value in its class.

I neede a printer and canon has always been my brand of choice.
It prints Excellent text and pictures.
It is a great value for your money.

I decided to buy this printer with the full knowledge that it was "first in breed" of a new line of disposable printers. Canon gives these away as promotions with the purchase of a new computer system or they can be bought separate at the sub $50.00 range. My previous printer the Canon I550 finally had the predicted print head problems and although it had worked well for a number of years I decided to chuck it and try the iP1600 instead. Since the iP1600 uses only 2 ink tanks, as opposed to the 4 tanks used by the I550 I knew the ink was going to be an expensive proposition, upwards of $35.00 retail for both tanks. My plan was, and still is, to just purchase additonal complete iP1600 printers for $20.00 or less (minus shipping) and get around the ink problem that way. So far I have purchased 2 of them and thanks to the USB connectivity I can alternate between color tasks and black and white text jobs between the two printers. My wife uses one of them for crafts and color ink required jobs and I use the other machine for strictly text duties. When the first printer's color tank ran down I tried a refill kit sold on Ebay for that specific printer and....to my amazement it worked perfectly. Just know, if you go that route, you will need a electric drill and a small bit to penetrate the thick plastic tank. The kit supplies you with a eyelet screw but the plastic is too tough for such a blunt instrument. All in all we like the printer it is fast, rugged and does a fine job on color prints and text. There is no exit feed tray so you will need to rig something to catch the paper as it exits the printer but if you have a additonal 12 inches of space in front of the printer the paper will stack up nicely on that surface!

But, ink is expensive so i recommend Self Filled kits or Refurb Catridges. They work JUST as good as new cartridges...dont listen to all the rumors!

This printer is very simple and prints excellent quality pages. It is small in size and can fit almost anywhere. It has a one year warranty and Canon does honor their warranty, unlike other companies I have dealt with (specifically HP). Ink seems to last quite a bit, and there are now compatibles made so that makes for cheaper printing. This is a workhorse for those in college or needing it for everyday use. It also prints excellent quality photos. All in all, for the price, can't go wrong.

Printer does a good job, the only problem is the ink cartridges. They are too high to buy. If you shop smart, you can buy a printer with the ink cartridges for less than the ink cartridges cost.

I already had the same printer and needed ink cartridges. This listing had the new product ones plus extra regular cartridges at a total price that was less than just the regular cartridges sold separately. Thus I purchased a set of original ink carts. and a set of new ink replacements and received another new printer my wife can use on her computer. The iP1600 Canon is a good printer- BUT their ink replacement cartridges are hard to find and way too expensive for how long they last! It does B/W or color prints FAST!

This is a wonderful printer for the low cost. It is fast and does wonderful photos and takes up very little space. Only drawback is that there is no output tray.

The product is an excellant printer, good value and was shipped well packed and timely. Good example of how EBAY can get you what you want, when you want it at a reasonable price.

I decided to buy this printer because ,first, its a Canon ,second, the price was right and because my old printer had bit the dust. What I like about this printer is its small footprint and how fast it prints, the software that came with it has some nice features.
The draw backs are of course the cost of the ink carts.and the colors are all in one cart.
For the price it's a good buy, I'll be using it for sometime to come.

What do you want for $50 bucks! It works just fine for my daughters limited college term paper printing. Not recommended to print photos.The ink costs $36 bucks, so if the printer breaks, just get a new one.

I DINT SERCH, BEFORE I BOUGHT THIS ONE, IT IS ONLY MY FOULT.
INK IS VERY EXPENSIVE, MY MISTAKE IS TO THINK, THAT PIXMA 1500, WHICH I HAD ALLREADY ,THE SAME INK COULD BE USED ON THE 1600.
HOPE THAY WILL COME OUT WITH CHEAPER INK SOON.

The print head on my Bubble Jet 4300 gave up the ghost. I like Cannon products so I looked for a printer that was extremly affordable. The one I found was the Pixima ip1600. I like it alot. In fact it seems that the ink is the only draw back. It seems to be cheaper to buy a new printer with the ink included than to buy more ink!!!! How cool is that? Quality and speed are great!

I bought this unit on Ebay last September. I was very impressed with the speed and quality-for the price. I paid about $25.00. And I found a Canon specific refill ink supplier and have now refilled my cartridges maybe 10 times and still like new!

Great quality printer at a great price! Fast printing and easy installation makes setting up a cinch. Very compact and quiet! I highly reccommend this printer for business or personal use!

I stick with canon products. The quality is excellent and the picture printing is amazing. I own a camera and printer and really enjoy them both.
