Canon FD 28mm f/2.8 Lens

LOVE THE WEIGHT OF THE LENS. ALWAYS BEEN A FAN OF MANUAL FOCUS, MAKES ME FEEL LIKE IM REALLY TAKING THE PICTURE AND IN CONTROL. AND THE FRAMING OF THE LENS IS REALLY COOL. SLIGHT DISTORTION AROUND THE EDGES AT 28MM. BUT IT ADDS A COOL EFFECT! BRAVO!

From many years of experience with this lens, I found it is a great, dependable, lightweight lens with a good maximum f-stop and a very useful angle of view. Probably the best wide angle lens to own if you are picking one wide angle lens for your Canon F-1, A-1, AE-1, AL-1, T50,70,80,90 or other FD lens mount cameras. If you go much wider, you may have problems getting your flash to cover the entire area of view. Since it is light lens and a very flexible focal length, you're more likely to want to carry it with you and have the benefit of its focal length at your reach.

Excellent lens, very typical of a Canon lens. Sharpness of this 25 year old lens is on par with current lens and product build superior. This lens will probably bee going strong 25 years from now.

The item was shipped and delivered in a timely manner. I haven't had a chance to try the lense ont he camera yet but it looks great.

I've only had a 50mm f/1.8 and a 80-200mm f/4.5-5.6. So I decided to get a wide angle prime. Mine came with a Hoya filter. A little dusty but was easy to clean.

Sharpness isn't as good as the 50mm f/1.8 but gotta keep in mind that the 28mm was made for wider angles such as landscape. Built quality is amazing; metal USM mount and stronger housing. I like how the focusing ring does not rotate and that the focusing includes a distance scale on the lens.

So far there isn't anything that I don't like about this lens.
Good wide angle prime for a decent (not the best) price.
