Canon EOS Rebel G 35mm Film Camera - Very Nice!

I really enjoy the ease of use although it does lack some of the features of the newer cameras which is the only reason I give it a good rating. Otherwise, Canon always makes a solid product. The film is easy to load and unload and the auto focus works great. While it does lack features it does have a lot of features that work very well. I would recommend purchasing a 200mm or a 300mm lens to go with the camera as well.

It is a very nice, clean, and easy to use camera and would recommend it for any beginning photographer.

I bought this camera because I'm an amateur photographer looking to expand my horizons. I really like this camera because it's great for a beginner. The controls are very simple to master, and since it's a Canon you know it also going to take great photos. The Rebel G has been very kind to it's batteries, having a much longer life than I expected (despite the fact that I accidentally left it turned on for several days). This camera is very light weight for a traditional 35MM SLR, but it certainly gets the job done. The only complaint I have with the camera is the slight lag it takes for the lens to return so you can take another picture, but it's nothing extremely major unless I were to try and take extremely fast paced photographs. All in all, a very good buy.

  Great beginner photographer's camera!

This is a great film camera just what you'd expect from canon. I've always been interested in photography and heard this was a great camera to start with. It's pretty much a fool proof; so easy to focus and take pictures with. One thing I really like about it is that the flash isn't blinding like it is in most cameras, so you can take pictures of people/yourself/pets without worrying that their eyes might be closed in the photo (one thing I really have a problem concerning digital cameras) or they may be frightened and run off (pets :). And from what I've heard these cameras last for 20 years or more, they're that well built. This is not only a good investment, it makes photography fun and easy.

The Canon EOS Rebel Camera is a fun camera to take everywhere! This versatile camera uses 35mm film and has a built in flash along with many photo options for close up, sports, landscape photos and more.
It is light - easy to use and takes great pictures.
It is perfect for the photo buff that isn't quiet ready for digital but still wants to advance their photography skills with specialized settings.

I bought this for my son who after two years of begging I gave in.
It was awesome. The camera was wonderful and looked new. I was impressed that it was still in the original packaging even the lenses were packed in the original package. The people I bought it from were great too. They were friendly and even wished me a happy holiday during the transaction. We corresponded several times. On Christmas day when my son opened the camera he was so excited. (He's sixteen) The seller had included 3 rolls of film and he instantly began to snap pix after pix. I couldn't see for hours. I spent under $100.00 total on this camera which was a real bargain. It retails for around $200.00 in stores. It made me happy that I could make him happy. It's hard for a single parent to afford some things that kids want nowadays.

Beautiful Pictures at an Affordable Price
Review created: 12/08/07

The Rebel G isa GREAT little camera! It's lightweight, yet packs an impressive amount of features. And, since these have been 'updated' by newer cameras in the Rebel series, they're available at (what I believe is) a bargain price!

I did a fair amount of research, and the newer models are only slightly faster. As for picture quality I think the G is just as good. And in 'full auto' mode, it's basically foolproof!

This is a great camera, easy to use, yet packed with enough features for more 'advanced', or creative photography. I like how all of the Canon Rebel series are easily changed between Auto, Aperture Priority, & Shutter Priority modes. All in all, a versatile, easy to use... and inexpensive!... camera that takes BEAUTIFUL photos!

Canon EOS Rebel G 35mm Film Camera Review

This camera is very nice. It is EOS so it has a self cleaning lense and mirror box. You can attach lens that automatically adjust themselves or manual. This camera has many options and functions to get the best quality out of a print. This is highly recommended for a novice photographer going professional because of the perfect functions you can use while taking a picture of this camera. The only thing that I do not like is that on some lenses you have to take the guard off at night because it blocks the flash in auto mode.

Canon EOS Rebel G Film camera.
Review created: 12/18/08

2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

The Canon EOS Rebel G is a run of the mill, no frills, film camera. They are price around the $20 - $25 range for body only. That's for a one in very nice condition.

If you are a Canon DSLR user, decided to take some photography classes at the local college and realized that the class was about shooting film, this is the camera for you. Same goes for any beginner photography student. You are way better buying a Rebel G or similar for under $30 then digging out that old SLR camera from your dad's closet and trying to get that to work.

It uses the standard EOS EF mount. ...but the lens mount is plastic. Not a huge deal, but if you plan on using the camera with heavy lens, might not be a long term solution. Is has the standard exposure modes, AV, TV, P, M and Auto. Frames per second isn't fast, no spot meter, the viewfinder is small. Like I said eariler, if you need it for some photography classes, it's great. I you are looking to expand your horizons and shoot film along with your digital, I would strongly recommend looking a little higher up on the Canon scale. For not that much more, you can find the Canon EOS A2,A2E,5(Europe Name). It's a semi pro camera, with some really nice features... Metal lens mount, faster frames per second, better over all camera. ...and with the A2E or EOS 5, you get eye control focus. Back in the day, I went from a Rebel to a EOS 5 and loved the move. The A2E/5 models are little bigger and a little more heavy, but not buy much. ...not as heavy as the EOS 1 series. So, in that sense, you can stash it in your photo bag and not notice the extra weight.

So, in summary, the Rebel G is a entry level camera. Anything more than a temporary camera for school, look higher up on the Canon lineup.

Jfretless.

My parents originally bought this camera for me when I was in college. I had it in Biloxi when I was a Hurrican evacuee and it was damaged beyond repair. I liked it so much, I KNEW someone else had to have one for sale somewhere. Of course, eBay was the perfect choice. I have bought one for myself and 3 others for family members who I have turned on to the same make of camera. The pictures are clear, the settings are easy to learn and use. The use of different lenses makes it easy to swap them out for what you want to take pictures of. It's easy to read display on the top right helps out tremendously as well!!

  Canon EOS Rebel G

Camera is light and tough---though plastic. Fits nicely in my camera bag along with two others to supplement my 20D. My three Gs use differing films---color neg, B&W silver and chrome. A single 50mm EF 1.8 lens serves 'em all and pinch hits on my 20D for low light digital shots at high ISO. The G has controls and features such as AF and auto exposure/manual modes that are similar to the 20D so there is less confusion switching cameras. Recommended.

The Best Film Camera For The Price!
Review created: 02/15/08
2 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I absolutely love this camera. I love my digital camera too, but I wanted a better film camera for more professional shots. I am a scrapbooker but I also do photo sessions for friends, family and neighbors and it was important to me to get a camera that didn't cost a bundle, but took color rich, vibrant photographs. This camera is it.

I have also played around with the digital version of the Rebel, and by far I think the film camera is a much better choice.

Digitally I am not looking for a "professional" grade camera, because no matter how many pixels you're looking at, nothing even compares to how awesome a film camera's photographs are.

The price seems steep to many, but for the clarity, richness and overall professional appearance of every photograph it is very well worth it. In addition, there are a lot of accessories that can be combined into the camera to take photographs there is simply no way you would capture with a regular automatic camera - film or digital.

The Canon Rebel is also REALLY easy to use. At first I was a bit stumped when I saw the size of the manual, but everything is laid out nicely, and is very easy to read - even for someone who has no experience with this type of camera. You won't be disappointed.

I like the auto focus for action shots, it is faster than manual focusing for moving objects. You can take action shots at 1 frame per sec its not super fastbut its fast enought right now for me. The lens for it is kind of expensive but you can get used lens for it. It has a built in powerwinder that is a plus.I decided to buy it for action shots and for faster shutter speeds . It goes up to 2,000 of a sec which is fast enought for me right now. I think it is a real good Camera. The pictures i took were real well exposed. I would recommend it . Its a good Camera.

The Canon EOS purchased is a great value. This particular camera is being used in a High School photography class. It is simple to use and takes great pictures. In a world of everything being automatic, it is difficult to find a good manual camera. The Rebel G is a definitely a winner for those who want to experience photography the "old fashioned" way of photography, manually.

Canon EOS Rebel G 35 mm Film Camera

It has been some time since I've had a camera that I could use to take pictures of my children. I chose this particular camera because the person who sold it recommended it and I have seen her pictures of her child she has taken to sell her product. They were beautiful pictures and I was hoping to get the same results. The fact that it was used meant I didn't have to put out so much money while I tried it out.

The camera has been very easy to use, the pictures have turned out well. I haven't used the manual feature yet, and that was one of the features I was drawn to in the beginning. When the weather warms up more I plan on using the manual feature more.

Another feature I like is that it isn't digital. We have used a digital camera and I am very disappointed in how many batteries it takes. We go through 10-20 batteries at least in one vacation. That is too expensive and wasteful for my taste.

All in all I couldn't ask for a better camera. Now I need to get an instruction manual to be able to use all its features.

Fay

I have a 12 year Grand Son who always wants to use my camera when he visits. I have a couple of Canon EOS film cameras and have always had excellent service from them.
I purchased this camera for him and will give it to him for a Christmas surprise. I have tested this camera and it is in perfect working order. I feel that I paid a reasonable price for a top quality product.
I am sure that my Grand Son will enjoy this camera.
