Good but not great

This is a pretty good lens. When it is a bright day outside with ample light this lens works amazingly. It's only when you start shooting in not-perfect conditions where this lens starts to be less-than-spectacular. I am in the process of looking for a new lens to upgrade from this one, but this is definitely a good starters lens and offers enough flexibility to shoot landscapes, macro, and portraits.
PROS:
- pretty good range. 35mm gives you decent wide angle and the 80mm is respectable when zooming in on close-range objects
- good image quality under good conditions
- fairly flexible
CONS:
- 33mm and 80mm are both good, but neither great
- good pictures can be hard to come by under less-than-perfect conditions
- relatively slow autofocus
Overall, this is a good beginner's lens. If you really want to start shooting great pictures you will need to invest in a better (albeit more expensive) one. But I bought this when I was starting out, and it has taken some pretty nice pictures for me, and it has remained sturdy and takes the same pictures now that it did when I first bought it. Hope this helps a little!
