Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens

This has got to be one of Canon's best zoom lenses out there. It is obviously an L lens for a reason. I used to shoot with the Sigma 24-60mm f/2.8 before I finally gave in and took the plunge on this baby. Wow, what a difference. The quality in detail and sharpness is amazing. It really makes the subject pop. I've done quality comparisons between the two and everything is just much more crisp.

So let's see- is it worth 2.5-3x the price? That's a tough question and it depends. If you are making money off of these shots, then the lens will pay for itself. If quality is important to you, then it's worth it. If this is just a hobby where you may spend a couple hours a month, then maybe it's not worth it. I will say that to me (I photog for money and pleasure), it was most definitely worth it!!

It's a pretty heavy lens. I also have the 24-105mm f/4, and use that as a travel lens, since it is much lighter and has a bit more range. The 24-70 I use if I want the best picture possible. Obviously the important factor is composition and having an eye for art, but I am just referring to the picture quality with respect to the lens taking it.

The bokeh is nice and smooth, just really makes the picture come together and pop.

I always say "invest in lenses and don't worry about the body so much." This lens be it on a MkII or Rebel makes everything shine.

I love this len. I used this lend with the Canon Mark II camera. I already took more than 7,000 photos, with this len I almost do everything.

Buying this second hand piece gave me some doubts at first but after many raved reviews about L series lens I took the plunge and now I'm hooked. Even as a second owner, the quality of this lens is remarkable - very pronounced when compared to the other prosumer lenses i've previously owned. There is more depth to the color of my photos now with a more realistic rendition.

I like this lens a lot. It is the first L lens I have purchased. I have been told that if you focus on your subject and then step back one step and focus back on your subject, that your picture will be more sharp. I am still learning all the pros and cons. I used it on a wedding yesterday. It was good from wide angel to long distance.

I was asked to assemble a complete package of Canon lenses that would compliment the Canon EOS 1Ds Mark II. My research prior to making a decisions comes under extreme scrutiny. Failure is not an option, ever!



The Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8L wasn't included in my initial order, but it certainly made the second! My superior was so blown away with the results from the EF 24-70mm that I personally requested to borrow it. I wanted to verify for myself the glowing reviews of this product. It preformed SO WELL, that during my initial impression, I was certain that the Canon EF 24-70mm was broken. This lens was so incredibly quiet, that just assumed that it didn't change focus. I was truly embarrassed, but once I saw the results, I also became a believer.

With that said, didn't hesitate to purchase a second Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 for my personal use. In my book, using my personal funds, is the ultimate form of flattery.

Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM Lens is a great lens with deep colors and fast shutter speed ,i use it in my canon rebel xti and quality photos started to appear its worth every cent and you will no longer to buy a new lens if you wish to upgrade your camera

the seller delivered the lens in a timely fashion and the lens is of good quality as he or she described in the description.

This is a L series lens and is built very solid. It is also has some weight to it, so some people might complain. To me the rugged construction and 2.8 f stop and sharp images far outweight (pun) the weight.

After much research I bought this lens. I use this lens for shooting events involving portraits, scenic and action shots. I love this lens

Before buying this lens, I thought about it a long time and because of the rather high price tag I almost went with a similar product from a 3rd party manufacturer for about half the price. I own a small sports photography business and needed a reliable wide angle/short zoom lens. I knew the quality of the Canon L line as that is what I primarily shoot. Within one week of owning this lens it has already paid for itself. Also, 3 photos taken with it have already been featured in the local newspaper.

I needed an in between lens for my close ups and my 70-200 and this fits perfectly. In fact I rarely even use the smaller MM lens anymore.

I bought this lens to go along with my new Canon 50D camera. The lens provides very crisp images and does a great job.

great great lens so pleased to have this glass in my bag. all pictures come out so clear and bright.alittle pricee but it will pay for itself with just one photo of my children.

Gotta love 'the brick'. It's a big heavy lens, but the image quality is impressive. I used it for an indoor dance showcase last weekend and it performed beautifully without a flash. Good fast lense.

I have had a chance to play with a lot of lenses and this is one of the nicer ones. If you take a lot of macro pictures and need something that is sharp and has a fast autofocus this is a lens that can do all of that. Great for an ebay seller or photographer.
