It never leaves my EOS 20D (soon to be 40D)- Excellent!

Excellent addition to your EOS camera! Having this battery pack (with fully charged batteries) allows me to go out of a day of shooting with out any concerns about battery life. The controls on the side allow me to turn my camera to the vertical and have quick access to camera features in addition to shutter release. Design makes it very comfortable to the hand.

Another plus is in a pinch you can insert the AA battery tray and switch over to 6 AA batteries if you need to. A safety feature if you accidentally leave your battery charger at home!

Does add to the camera height by about 2 inches - so you may have to take that into consideration as far as your camera bag. Adds to the weight a bit too, but the trade off is worth it.

If you love to take lots of digital pictures at family gatherings - sporting events - or just out on a nature walk this is definitely worth purchasing. I love mine so much it never leaves my camera!

    **9-2007 UPDATE**

I just ordered one for the new Canon EOS 40D. In reading on line reviews, there is supposed to be very little difference between this battery grip and the one they've developed for the 40D. Yes, the new one for the 40D has some weather stripping on the battery door, but I'm not concerned about my battery grip being sealed so much as I am my camera body and lens. From what I was able to tell, the BG-E2 runs about $80 less than the newer one for the 40D. Please do check the reviews for yourself (ie: photography-on-the.net) and happy shooting!
