Calm Baby (DVD, 2003)

Hi - and thanks for reading this review. My husband and I have a high needs baby girl, Payton. When she was born, I bought all the expensive developmental DVD's to which she wailed throughout. I was crushed. I thought since these DVD's were so popular, she'd be sure to enjoy them. Wrong.

But one day, my husband and I were at a wholesale store, and ran across this DVD series. With the purchase we would be getting 6 complete DVD's

1. Calm Baby
2. Fun Baby
3. Baby Loves Trains
4. Baby Smart Start - Images & Classical Music
5. Counting
6. Baby Prodigy

It cost $49.99 for everything. The competitor was charging $179.99 for a comparible system. What the heck?

I put in Fun Baby - and the rest was history. Payton LOVES this DVD over all the other ones. It's set to a nice semi-fast paced tone, and geared for the baby who's just woken up from a nap.

Need to calm the baby prior to the nap? Calm Baby will do the trick. It's full of water scenes and uses the sound of water to calm baby down.

We have since sold all the other DVD sets and use this set exclusively. We've even installed a portable DVD player in our SUV and bought an additional copy of Fun Baby for car rides. This DVD is hands down the best DVD you will ever need!!

There are other DVD's in this set which are geared for newborns to 3 months of age due to the fact that these primarily use the colors black, white and red - which are the 3 colors that babies see first. After 3 months or so, baby will want to see more color, so you'll probably have to retire the early DVD's.

But - for the money - you CANNOT go wrong here. I hope you enjoy this DVD the way our family has. It's truly saved us a lot of crying sessions!
