Callaway X- Tour forged

Single handicap, male 36. If you're looking for an iron that sets up well, either as a player or a recreational golfer, look no further than the X-tour forged irons. There's a reason why Phil Mickelson uses them... because they're worth it. Cavity back for forgiveness, wide sole for good playability on any turf, a little thicker topline than most player irons, this iron can do it all for you. You can shape your shots, play it high, or play it low, every shot feels awesome because it's forged. Good pop off the face, too. I'm getting older so my swing speed is getting slower as well. Feels much better than the cast iron player series... which one? Any of them. As long irons, they are very forgiving. Everyone should have them as 4,5 and 6 iron replacements. They get the ball up. (Let's face it, if you need all your long irons to be hybrids, you and the LPGA have a lot in common). Because they are forged, they are very meaty behind the ball and weigh a little heavier than standard irons. (D-3 swingweight). PGA players are playing more cavity back irons than blades these days. My scoring irons (7,8,9,PW), are all blades, but I realized I needed to replace my long irons (6,5,4) because they didn't have a wide enough sole and that I had to hit my long irons too perfectly to get the carry I needed from them. Another good and lower priced option for a forged cavity back is the Mizuno MX-23. Hope this helps.
