Callaway Great Big Bertha II Fairway Wood Golf Club

These are the easiest to hit fairway woods I've played. The 5 and 7 woods are as good as any hybrid for 175-220 yard shots. They're also very sharp looking and you'll see their style copied in many cheaper brands. They are a very good buy with the advent of newer Callaway models in the last 2 years.

It was the club I was looking for and couldn't find in the stores b/c it was several years old. It complements my driver I bought awhile ago.

Every time a new callaway fairway wood becomes availible I always buy one and try it out. I have come to the conclusion that there is no better performing fairway wood than the Great big bertha II it gets the ball up quick and easy has comparable or better distance and is more user friendly.

The last of the titanium fairway woods by Callaway. In my opinion, this was Callaways best fairway wood. Still made of 100% titanium, and still made in the USA. Somewhat of a smaller head, but very easy to get the ball air-born, and very easy to shape and control shots. I bought the 3 & 5 woods off of Ebay, one with the stock "Firm" shaft, the other with a Graffaloy Pro Launch "stiff" shaft.

Results; The stock shaft performed fine, and as expected. However, the wood fitted with the Graffaloy shaft performed better than any fairway would I have ever played with. I have a ton of confidence when reaching for that club, because I know I'll be able to put the ball where I aim it. The other pleasant surprise was the distance. Never thought I could hit a 3 wood 260+ yards.

Bottom line, I found Callaway's Great Big Bertha II's the best fairway woods I'd ever played with. I liked them so much, I bought an additional 3 & 5 wood for my back-up set. I was going to re-shaft the 5 wood with the same Graffaloy Pro-launch shaft, but I actually found one already with that shaft and flex on Ebay, and I snagged it up toot-sweet. I also think most informed golfers already know the reputation, quality, and desireability of these dated woods, because not only are they a bit scarce, but still sell for a moderate chunk of change.

If your not into the latest and greatest hype, and are more interested in performance than esthetics, then you'd be well to do by scooping one of these bad boy's up. Club designers have done pretty much all they can do, and I haven't seen any dramatic improvements over the last ten years or so. However, just remember this only my opinion. You yourself will have to make the effort and find out what's right for you. I only try to share my experiences and hope it will help someone find the right club for them. Also, don't forget we all swing and hit the ball a little differently. So, one size doesn't neccessarily fit all. I hope my two cents were useful. Thanks and good luck.

I purchased this golf club as a gift for my wife. She loves the game and prefers the fairway woods rather than irons. The fairway woods are getting more difficult to find. The product was delivered on time and was brand new as advertised.

Have the complete set of these woods now and driver. Very please with the forgiveness and ability to hit off of tight lies on the fairway with it's large sweet spot.

Well, when I first got the club it was in great condition. So I took it out for a round of golf. Everything felt great. When I first hit it, it was like a dream come true. It felt great. Everything about this golf club is good. Loved it.

I have only had it out for one round, but this club has some power! I had some poor shots which are common for me with a new club, but the ones I got a hold of really took off dead straight. I don't care for the callaway grip that comes on it, too smooth for me. I had it replaced for $10 so I can't wait to get out there and hit some more balls with this powerful titanium fairwood

THE ITEM LOOKED NEWER THAT THE ITEM THAT I RECEIVED........ IT HAD ALOT OF SCRATCHES ON THE BOTTOM AND THE LIGHTING ON THE PICTURE THEY USED MADE THE PICTURE LOOK TOTALLY DIFFERENT. I DON'T MIND ABOUT THE SCRATCHES BECAUSE IT DOESN'T AFFECT MY PLAYABILITY BUT OTHERS WOULD HAVE RETURNED THE ITEM AS FALSELY ADVERTISED. OTHER THAN THAT I USE E-BAY ALL THE TIME AND HAVE NOT REALLY HAD ANY BAD TRANSACTIONS. ONLY IF THERE WERE OTHER TYPES OF SHIIPPING THAT YOU CAN CHOSE FROM....... NOT JUST ONE....... All 3 clubs are in great condition and the price was right. I had been using a Callaway GGB II 9 wood which has been my favorite club for a couple of years. For whatever reasons the GGB II 9 wood seems to fit my swing and when I saw the chance to get these other GGB II woods (3, 5 and 7) to fill in my set at a bargain price, I jumped at the opportunity. So far I am delighted with this purchase and seem to hit these woods better than the "newer other brand" that they replaced. Now whenever I use my fairway woods, I "know" that I will hit a decent shot.

I changed the shaft but the head of this club is the hottest club I have ever hit.Straight & Long. I got my original one stolen so you can see why I am so happy to replace it.

I bought the Great Big Bertha II 3 wood, and it was absolutely wonderful from the very first swing! Long, straight, and nice. I stopped using my driver after that first round. I was getting the same performance from my GBB 3 wood as my generic driver, and it was much straighter. I liked it so much I bought the gbb II driver to go with it!

Being a novice golfer, I took a chance and bid and won a used Calloway Big Bertha 9 with original headcover. It arrived in a few short days, in great packaging. When I took it out of the box, it took my breath away! It was exactly as described and photographed and was even better than I thought it would be. I haven't played a game thus far that I haven't used this club and it is exactly everything I hoped it would be and more. My friends always borrow it when they see what a great club it is!
The seller did an excellent job of describing the club and its use! My only regret is that I didn't have time to bid on another club he had up for auction! I saved him in my Favorite Sellers list and check from time to time to see what he has available.

GBBII #3 16* is an easy club to hit off the ground...easy swing and sweep gets the ball air bound with good distance. Had a 15 degree before but thought it may be easier with this club and sure enough, the ball ball goes straighter with good trajectory. The club is also great for driving off the tee sending off almost the same distance as the driver. An excellent club!
