I know what your thinking ... "Its not size .. but how you use it." But like the other times you have heard that in your life, the cliche is a sad sad lie.

I thought I had enough and swore I would never be one of "those guys"

Boy was I wrong!! The first time I stepped up to "Tee Off" ... BAM!!!! WOW!

Talk about a sweet spot! The whole thing is a sweet spot. I am now a true believer the Big Bertha. You may feel a bit funny using it in front of the guys, but after you add 50yrs on to your drives you will get over it.

There is a reason this club is so popular.

  Simply Amazing

I have carried the Taylor Made 500 series and the Cleveland Launcher 400, and neither come close to this club. I have always had a slice and nothing I did could cure it. The first swing with this club was simply glorious. Straight down the pipe. I don't know if it was all mental after that first swing, but 95%of all of my drives with this club have been just as good as the first. This may be the last driver I ever own!!! Thank you Calloway. You have made this game a lot less frustrating.

  380cc of sweetness

I love my Big Bertha II driver. I've compared it side-by-side at the range with a Big Bertha TI 454, and Big Bertha Titanium. The Big Bertha II simply went straighter for me. The sound from the TI 454 and Titanium didn't have the customary ping noise I usually get from Big Bertha's, and man can I slice those two. They actually sounded more like a TaylorMade thwack, which I find distracting. I also noticed that the club face seems to be about the same size on all three drivers. I want the club face to be huge so I can hit five inches behind the tee and still end up with a decent shot. I want to be able to miss the sweet spot, and still end up in the fairway. The Great Big Bertha II has done this for me. Bottom line, I've hit this thing off the toe, off the heel, behind the ball, and about as poorly as possible and I've still ended up in or close to the fairway. I can slice this guy too, but I can slice a putt.

Unfortunately this review is more of a commentary on the risk/reward of buying clubs sight unseen on eBay than on the merits of this particular club. My experience has been mixed on ten or so purchases. One seller never sent the club, another packed it poorly so the shaft broke and three sold clubs with no serial number. The Big Bertha II driver I bought fell into the last category. The club looked fine but when I hit it on the range it had no pop. When I compared it to new clubs in the pro shop, I saw that my driver lacked a serial number on the heel. Most likely it was a counterfeit.

Fortunately the seller took it back but I still lost the shipping costs. So ask about serial numbers before bidding, especially on high markup brands like Callaway, and check on return policy. Even a serial number can be bogus, so try the club out as soon as possible. A reputable seller should take it back, although they are probably aware that they are selling a possible fake.

A friend bragged about Callaway's Big Berthas until I was sick of hearing him. I thought he was as full of hot air as the Goodyear Blimp, and that no club could improve anyone's game that much. I came across one to try out and after trying it, I have concluded that he grossly understated the club. It is soooo easy to hit and it propells the ball like I've never seen. It certainly lives up to its name as it really is GREAT!!!

I decided to buy the Callaway Big Bertha 2 because I hit the Callaway Great Big BErtha for 5 years before deciding to switch. I saw this one on here and bid on it for $40.00 dollars had it re-safted and love it. I am hitting the ball very long on an average of 290 and straight, could not have got a better deal. The item was in better shape than descibed, shipped fast and I was on the course with it after I put a new shaft within a week. I am very happy with my purchase thanks alot Chad Cagle.

  Callaway on EBay - A Hole-In-One
Review created: 02/09/07
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

Name brand golf equipment often is very expensive. When you visit your pro-shop you are going to pay top-dollar, even for used equipment. Ebay is wonderful as you can find top quality products, new and used, at unbeatable prices.

I purchased the Great Big Bertha II used, on Ebay for two major reasons. Number one was that I like Callaway products. Number two, the price was unbeatable and the condition was very good for its age. This of course equals a great deal of value, which is probably why most people buy on eBay. I love buying on eBay!

  GBB II 380cc
Review created: 09/02/06
by:
1 of 1 people found this review helpful.

I purchased the GBB II 380cc club because I was moving up from a 285 cc Biggest Big Bertha and I thought the move up to 460 cc would be too much. I struggled the first few times I used the club on the range and was ready to go back to my old driver, but somebody said to give it a few more days and they were correct. I started to hit the club much better and I have really learned to like it a lot. Drives seem to go straighter with a slight draw and I think I am hitting it a little farther. This is good driver for a mid to high handicap player.

  Why I Purchased this club

I was in the market for a 9* loft driver, and was told by friends that the "Great Big Bertha II" was one of the best to buy. I am now hitting the ball straighter than I have ever hit with a driver. The only negative aspect to my purchase, was not getting the correct shaft but my distance is about the same as old driver when I managed to hit it straight.

  GBBII Driver
Review created: 07/25/06
1 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I have recently gotten a Great Big Bertha Driver II from Edwin Watts Golf. I had been using a Wilson Staff Pd5. I like both drivers a lot. However, I really like the GBBII just a little more. The Pd5 hits a beautiful draw. However, the Callaway Great Big Bertha II hits it right down the middle and about 30 yards further. The sweet spot is a great big launching pad. Where ever you catch the ball on that sweet spot, that ball is going to fly. Who needs a 460cc driver when you can get (and control) a 415cc driver and do the same amount of damage. Get yourself one of these.

Top Quality Driver Golf Club at a Very Reasonable Price
Review created: 07/09/06
by:
1 of 2 people found this review helpful.

I'm an avid golfer and over the years I have developed a preference to certain manufacturer's products. I've always admired Callaway and Ping products for their quality. If you are aware of the prices of drivers on major brands of equipment, you know that the purchase of a new one will set you back a minimum of $300. Using E-Bay, I've been able to purchase a Callaway Great Big Bertha II Driver at a very reasonable price. I would have rated the club a 9 out of a possible 10. The seller thought the shaft was rated as a senior shaft, but checking on arrival, the 'S' on the shaft stood for stiff instead of senior. Using the club on the golf course, I'm am very pleased with the product and will continue to purchase items on E-Bay. I've purchased many items on E-Bay and have never been disappointed.

I've been learning to hit golf balls for less than a year and this club feels good when meking contact. I bought it because it was less expensive and I'm trying out different woods, hybrids, irons etc so don't want to pay much. At present it will be in my bag.

Very good club easy to hit and very forgiving. There is no down side for this driver ,although, some may think this head not large enough since we are all getting used to swinging something that resembles a satelite dish. I't is large at , I believe 425cc but not the 460cc that some expect today. Great club.

The club was in good condition and shipped very fast. Sellers discription was right on, not in Excellent but was in a better condition than Good. I very happy to have bought this driver from this seller as I feel he/she was very honest with the deal.

  Big Bad Bertha
Review created: 07/06/09

I love the feel, balance, and the HUGE sweet spot on this club.
What a big hitter!
I bought this driver, because I already own one in 8.5 degree loft, but it just didn't get the ball up off the turf enough. (I got the 8.5 because I had a horrible slice, and was trying to keep it down flat to minimize the off line damage to my shots.)
Straightened out my drives, and I was ready for more loft. This beast delivers!
Puts the ball right where I want it, with enough loft to add distance.
Very forgiving, and easy to hit the big shots with it.
