About the Manufacturer
The story of Callaway Golf begins with the company’s founder and namesake Ely Callaway, a passionate businessman and well known figure in the game of Golf. The company got its start when Mr. Callaway bought a small wedge and putter company called “Hickory Stick USA”, which later became “Callaway Hickory Stick USA” and eventually “Callaway Golf”. From the beginning the company was committed to producing quality product for golfers of all skill levels. Mr. Callaway called it “Demonstrably Superior and Pleasingly Different” (DPSD) golf clubs. Though the company has grown exponentially since it’s modest start in 1982 (when Mr.Callaway would deliver product himself from the back of his Cadillac) the commitment to innovation and quality remains. Now a publicly traded company, Callaway is one of the most visible names in golf with a product line that encompasses the full spectrum of equipment and accessories including drivers, irons, wedges, putters and balls. Callaway golf also owns Top-Flite Golf Company, Odyssey Putters, Ben Hogan and Strata Brands.

      Excellent Callaway Irons

First, I must say that yes, you do need to be careful when buying golf equipment on ebay due to the large number of counterfeit clubs for sale. If you do your research, you can find excellent clubs such as the Callaway FT irons I purchased.

These irons continue the Fusion line of irons that were popular over the past few years. I have played both the NS Pro 1100GH Uniflex steel shafted model and the graphite shafted model and I like them both. The ~35 gram difference in the shaft weights between the graphite and steel shafted versions is noticable but I would not consider the uniflex shaft "heavy". My swing speed is "on the line" between the regular flex and the stiff flex category. The uniflex steel shaft works for me however I have also played the regular flex graphite model with good results. Both versions launch the ball with very little effort in part due to the titanium face and the distribution of the weight around the clubhead. Callaway made the topline thinner with a little less offset than their other main game-improvement iron, the X-20 (the Big Bertha is in the Max Game Improvement category).

While I have experienced some game improvement qualities in the FT irons, I would place them between the X-20 and the X-20 Tour for forgiveness with off-center hits in part due to the amount of offset. I would consider them the next step up for players that have used the X-20 (or other game improvement irons) but not a difficult step. The sole width and face size are similar to the X-20 with the thinner top line being the most noticable difference at address. If you have problems hitting iron shots, the FT irons will not help you. If you feel comfortable hitting irons, do not be afraid to give the FT irons a try. As Callaway advertises, the FT irons are aimed at the mid and low handicap player. Vist a Demo Days or try them out at your favorite golf test facility such as Golf Galaxy stores. I think that you will like the 2008 Callaway FT irons.

      Renigged on winning bid

I was the winning bid and the reserve was met. I paid for my bid using my Pay Pal account within 5 minutes of the close of bidding. Four hours later, I'm notified on my Ebay account that my money was refunded without being given a reason. Last night I was not the winning bidder and was notified that the item was relisted because the winning bidder had not complied with payment instructions. That cannot be my case as Pay Pal paid the Seller along with another Seller where I was the winning bidder on another item. How can a Seller RENIG on items where the reserve was met and paid for? Something is wrong with this Seller.
